Back to Work

I went back to work on 14th Sep and that left me with 4 weeks of maternity leave to clear by Jun 2010. On my first day back to work, i told my boss that i will take the remaining maternity leave in Nov cos hubby on reservist. It's better that i be SAHM during that period else i can only work half day afternoon shift. Well, boss say OK and will arrange with him closer to the dates! :D

Before i returned to work, i've started a routine for Danelle and maid.
7am - Latch
10am - Bottle feed

1 pm - Bottle feed
4 pm - Bottle feed
7pm - Bottle feed
9-10 pm -Latch
12-1am - Latch (Dreamfeed)

Danelle was following very well according to the schedule and she was taking the bottle during day time and sleep thr the nite from 10pm till 6-7am. Only occassionally she will wake up at 4am so i have instructed my maid to give her pacifier and she is back to dreamland again. Such an angel rite? :)

Well, the friday before i went back to work, Danelle started to "bottle protest". Yes, she refuse to drink from bottle. Haiz... We found out when she didn't take any milk the whole day and will cry when we put the bottle into her mouth. But if i let her latch, she will happily drink her milk?!?! So what i did was to make Danelle fall asleep then feed her the bottle. It works sometimes. Then we also realised that certain frozen EBM she reject so I am not sure which packet of my 30+ storage packets has problem. Every day i will thaw 1 packet and ask my maid to try to feed Danelle with that. If Danelle drink, then it means ok to continue to feed her else throw! Sounds wasted rite? But no choice cos maybe certain batches are not "fresh"?!?!

During my 12 wks of maternity leave, i have stored up to 30+packets of Frozen EBM. As of today, i have abt 40+ packets of Frozen EBM in my fridge cos i am still expressing milk twice during office hrs. Thus, Danelle is still on total breastfeeding and NO formula milk required from birth till now! :) I really hope i can breastfeed Danelle till she turns 6mths old or even longer since i have invested in a breast pump. So no excuses to quit breastfeeding for now. :p

continue to breastfeed as long as she can... I'm proud of myself as I'm hitting the 1 year mark of breastfeeding to my little mousey and I'm glad I can do it till now... I'll continue till I cannot... :) Same to you.. Jia YOU!
