Be A Star contest

Last Sunday(23rd Nov), it was Danelle first solo performance on stage. I have submitted her photo for the Be A Star contest and was shortlisted. We were told that she need to do something eg song, dance etc to be the winner on the day. So after much discussion with the gals, we decided to go with Princess Anna singing  the song "Do you want to build a snowman". 

Danelle spent few night rehearsal and practice with the song. Meanwhile, I was sourcing the Anna costume for her. Thank God that we got the costume at a very good price and collected from the seller on Saturday night! 

So when Sunday comes, Danelle was so happy with her Princess Anna costume. She went on stage and sang the song! Well done baby. Though we didn't win but it was a great experience especially for her! 

Wild wild wet contest

Few weeks back, I saw there is wild wild wet contest to wish Wild Wild Wet Happy Birthday. So I post on Facebook with the family photo that we took at Wild Wild Wet and won a pair of entrance ticket on their birthday party date which is on 2nd Aug. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it for the day hence I didn't collect the tickets :(

First Date 10th Anniversary

We first met on 7th August 2004. It's been 10years since we know each other! Wow wow I surprise that time has passed so fast... 

Last time we used to go out for a meal to celebrate the occasion but recent years, we don't really celebrate with meals but hubby will send flowers over if he remember the day. 

This year no flowers.. no meals celebration... Was kinda disappointed until I went to the bedroom and saw heart of cherries. It was nice and the cherries were sweet! 😍 Also hubby bought a card and wrote some words in it. That was something that we have not done for ages so I really happy to receive this cherries and the card. Thank U dear and Love u deep deep. 

Appreciation Day

On the week of 8th Aug, my office has become appreciation week! 

The first surprise was the bottle of coffee from Starbucks from one of the bosses. Then on 8th Aug, we received 2 box of surprises. First was a box of Chewy Junior each with a note. And shortly followed by Krispy Kreme donut! I am over sweetened by the amount of sugar that week! Woww.. Still happy that staffs are appreciated though these sweet treats! Thanks Bosses! 

As I m updating this blog, another box of Krispy Kreme came as they were late in delivery hence they sent us another 5 dozen complimentary for us! Hehehe

Adelle teeth dropped!

6th Aug 2014 marked another new chapter in Adelle Life! Her two bottom front teeth were extracted out by my mum! 

Last Sunday we noticed that the new teeth are sprouting out but were hesitating whether to wait for it to drop or go to dentist to get it out. So we waited and then my mum decided to pull it out. 

The first tooth came out easily while the second one was more painful and more bleeding based on Adelle description of the process. 

So here is the toothless pictures of Adelle! She is soo happy that finally the teeth has dropped! 

I have save the previous cute toothies into the container that my sis-in-law bought for Adelle long long ago. It was so cute!

People of Purpose

I signed up the CSR event on 31st July to be a People of Purpose! We are bringing a group of pioneers (seniors) from the Lion Befrienders to the RWS Sea Aquarium. Thereafter proceed with lunch & performance. Prior to the event, I attend the briefing and was provided a tee shirt. 

We were split into groups and I was assigned to Team 1. Our group only have 3 and I am the only Chinese. The group of seniors assigned to us was from Chinatown and they speak Cantonese! Thank God I can still manage with simple Cantonese as previously I worked in Hong Kong hence basic conversations is ok for me. 

It was nice to see smiles on the senior face and they enjoyed the tour and lunch.  The whole event was from 9 to 2pm and we bide farewell to them with goodie bag and photo! 

Drama part of the event was one of the Aunty went missing and we couldn't find her. Hence the whole group couldn't proceed for lunch and become restless. We take the decision to leave someone(helper) behind to find her whole the rest proceed to the lunch location. Thank God, we found the Aunty seated at the Aquaries ballroom banquet table waiting for us!! 

The other drama was I was distributing the goodie bags and group photo. Didn't realize that we got one extra uncle who was in our group but never appear in group photo. So I got to be thick skin and ask the uncle to give me the photo so that one Aunty can have the group photo as the Aunty was upset..

Anyway all ended well and I head back to office at changi! Worked for few hours and then rush to our dept BBQ gathering at NSRCC. It was fun eating BBQ food cooked by a paid chef and lots of wine & beer to cheers through the night! A great gathering with my fun colleagues! 

Baby Day Out

Our annual national day gathering with Danelle & friends! 

This year it was held at Marina Promontory and we pack food for picnic on 2nd Aug at 5pm. Last year I brought sandwiches and this year I brought bananas and apples instead. Easy and clean! Judy brought fried rice, Katty brought donuts, Cynthia brought nuggets and Shannon brought hotdog. 

The registration was long queue as people were queuing for the goodie bag. It was quite a nice bag with picnic mat as well. 

This year there are more bouncy castles but the games stall doesn't have any prizes to reward you. But at the finale, kids were given a walking balloon pet to bring home. 

What we like about the event is to watch the airplanes flew over us and NDP fireworks! It was another happy get together and we will be looking forward to nxt year! Haha.. 

Happy National Day!!

Chocolate Origin

Last Sunday we went Kallang Wave mall for dinner and then we proceed to chocolate origin for a cup of hot chocolate and coffee. Wow we are so impressed with the artwork! So pretty! The gals are in love with the hello kitty!

We also walked around sports hub and saw singapore lighting! 

In addition, we also saw the new water playground that going to open soon! Looks good! 

Hubby birthday celebration

The first celebration was with our cell group friends on 25th July. Meiying bought fruits tarts and it was yummy. The kids love the fruits! 

On 27th July we drove in to desaru for a short stay over cos this year hubby birthday coincide with Hari Raya Puasa. We detour to Legoland before heading down to Desaru and nearly lost the way as our GPS guided us in a different route.

I have booked Pulai Desaru Resort and we stayed there for 2D1N. I booked a standard deluxe with extra bed and during check-in, the guy claim that they upgrade my room but I seriously doubt so. Anyway I don't really like this hotel. Here are the reasons :

1. Limited wifi- only accessible via the lobby

2. Pricey - I booked the room with extra bed and the price i paid was so much higher and my friend say it's look similar to the room she stayed previously and so much cheaper than mine! 

3. Pathetic breakfast - Refill of food are extremely slow and what I get is nasi Lemak with ikan bills, egg, peanuts & fried noodle. Not much selection nor choice. The croissant taste like rubber and Adelle hates it! My kids didn't even want to eat their breakfast. 

4. Small children playground with houseflies flying around in aircon room

5. Dinner - We ate at one of the restaurant and waited 1hr for the udon which they left out in the order. 

The only nice thing is the pool area that has a small slides and beach to entertain my kids. 

We left at 12pm and went to the nearby RM$2 shop to see any good buy. Lots of things and we bought snacks etc. My recommendation is don't buy the snack as the cracker we bought are not expired but they are not crispy at all. Then after the quick stopover, we head straight to Indah for grocery shopping and late lunch. 

We head back to Singapore at 5pm and stuck in jam till 8.30pm then we reach Singapore. As it was rather late and we decided to go Kallang Wave Mall to eat dinner and buy birthday cake from Chocolate Origin. The cake was nice and we had dinner at Shokudo. Nice food and we brought the cake home to celebrate!

Police Heritage Centre

I called up and booked the tour since june and finally on July 25th is the tour day! 

I took PM leave and rush to BHG sale before head back to pick up the gals for the tour at 4pm. We took a cab to the new Pheonix Park and the driver was curious why does an adult with 2 kids will go to Police HQ. So I told him, we are going for a tour (visit). He was smiling when he heard that and we reached there by 3.45pm to register.

The security were tight and we were guided into the place. It was like a museum and the gals learnt about the police history and get to take pictures in police costume! 

They enjoyed the tour very much and they came telling everyone about the tour and things that they learnt at the Police Heritage Center.
