My Wish - 27th Dec 2010

2010 is coming to an end and we got a WISH to welcome 2011! :)

Today(28th Dec) is the day that we say goodbye to Freed. Honestly we do miss our Baby Freed. We bought it becos of Danelle and even my maid misses Freed too! She says Freed is a very cute car! We sold our beloved car becos now is the best time to sell Freed since we can get an offered price much higher than the price that we have paid for Freed. This is the first time in our life that selling a car can fetch $ back instead of lossing out on the depreciation value. So we just gotta say goodbye and go for a second hand car - WISH which is within our budget. Anyway, now is not the right time to buy brand new car since the COE has increased tremedously. I am glad that we made the right decision previously to buy the Freed though it was haste decision. :)

Initially hubby wanted to go for Honda Stream but i doesn't like cos i find it a bit cramp. Then we decided to go for a Wish instead as it is more spacious, cheaper and it is known to be a better petrol consumption car despite of the big size. So we went for "car shopping" on xmas eve @ Turf city and managed to grab one unit that is within our budget and condition looks ok. Even the car dealer was surprised that we sold our Freed at a good price cos we directly advertised our car on sgcarmart and got several calls from potential buyer and dealers as well. Actaully we sold off our Freed at a cheap price cos after i signed the agreement with my Freed buyer, another buyer willing to offer me another $1.5k more but no choice, i have already took the deposit. So sad... else i got more $ in my bank now.. :(

Yesterday, hubby and i went down to collect our WISH. Then hubby drove the Freed back while i drive the WISH. Kinda fun... hehehee... Prior to this, i went for refresher auto-car course as i haven't been driving since Adelle was born so I pay $ to learn to drive again... Thank God the car was quite nice to drive despite of the big size so i reach home without much stress... :) Gotta drive more often with the wish now since hubby will not be in singapore again from next week onwards as he will be away for a whole month....

End of Mama milk

Dearest Danelle

Today is the day that you are finally on full formula milk! After a good 17+months of breastmilk supply, you have grown strong and tall although you are't fat and chubby at all. Hmm... probably Mummy has absorbed all the fats instead of you bah?... :(

Looking back, you are really much more fortunate than jie jie cos she only get 4 months of breastmilk while you get 4 times of the supply! Even one of the daddies in mummy office envy you and always tell mummy that i have helped your daddy save lotsa $ whenever he saw me coming out from the server room with 2 bottles of milk! Also i must give gratitude to the ameda pump that serve me for 1 good year before it broke down and thereafter it was took over by the manual avent pump that mummy got it from a forum fren. Without these equipments, i doubt i can last till today. What i enjoy most during this period was the bonding time with you. Every night, i will latch you and see you fall asleep after a full feed. Then the next thing in the morning, you will look for me and get your first feed of the day. These were the sweet moments that I enjoy having with you cos jie jie never get to do so as she can't latch. :P

Anyway, Mummy has done my best to provide you milk as it was a challenging 17+mths when there are times that i wanted to stop but perserve on becos you doesn't drink from bottle.. But thank god that finally you are willing to be spoon-feed and take milk via the mag mag cup when you go travelling with mummy and daddy! :)

Mummy pray that you will continue to grow strong, healthy and cute always! :)

Lift ride

Last sunday(5th Dec) was a memorable day for me cos it was the day that Adelle and Danelle went on a lift ride on their own without us!!!

The incident goes like this. Adelle and Danelle took an early nap on sunday cos they knew we are going to the Hi5 show at 4pm. So at 3pm, we were suppose to leave the house and head for the Hi5 shows @ Marina SQ. I was locking the door while the maid was opening up the stroller and Danelle was around the stroller area. But after i lock the door, i didn't see Danelle anymore. So i called "Mei Mei?" but no response. Then i called "Adelle?" but also no response and the next i knew, they must have took the lift on their own!!! :(

I told my maid to stay at our floor level while i go down to level 1 to look for them. When i reached ground floor, i didn't see both of them so i went to the playground to look for them but also didn't see them there. Then i asked those uncles sitting at the void deck if they have seen 2 small kids but nope too.... I was frantically trying to think where they could have landed themselves on which floor. So i decided to climb up each floor to try my luck. When i reached level 4, i run out of breadth and decided to take lift. I noticed that one of the lift stop at level 13 so i head to level 13 but no luck! Then I continue to go up to my floor to try and bingo, the gals are with the maid! :)

My maid told me that after i went down, she pressed the lift and the lift came up from level 13. When the lift door open, Adelle was holding Danelle hand and Danelle ran out of the lift when she saw the maid. I was told that the gals didn't cry and when i saw them, i felt so relieved and proud of Adelle who took care of her mei mei in the lift. :) But of cos, i scolded Adelle for not waiting for us and left on her own. Have reminded her that she cannot take lift on her own next time and she nodded her head.

The next day, i told my colleagues about this incident and they told me that the lift will usually hang around on level 13 if no one is taking the lift and of cos that only applies for flats that are 25 storey high. Hmm... i went back home and tried. It really went to level 13. Now i know the trick! :)

New school for Adelle

Adelle is turning 3 years old next year (2011) and I have been thinking whether to put her in a normal kindergarten or continue in the childcare centre. After much consideration, we've decided to go with the normal kindergarten. Simple reasons as follows :

1. Cut cost! The CC fees is $600 monthly while the kindergarten that i have enquired cost me $200 only. I can use the remainding amt to put Adelle for other enrichment classes while Danelle can also use the $ to go for her playgroup class when she turn 20mths old.

2. High turnover of teachers in Adelle class! I told Adelle chinese teacher about my intention of withdrawing and she was very sad. She keep telling me that Adelle is an intelligent child and 3 hrs of school is not enough for her?!?!? Erm... sounds funny rite? Anyway i told her my main issue is becos within 1 yr, they have changed 3 english teachers already. I don't like a school where the teachers keep changing and the child has to re-adapt all over again. Thank God Adelle is not sticky to any teacher but i felt the bonding between the teacher and child that has to start all over again whenever a new teacher comes in.

3. The new english teacher! Honestly, i find her young and inexperience. Yesterday I was on afternoon leave and went to pick up Adelle. Saw the teacher just sat at the small chair "stoning away" while the children just entertain themselves by run around inside the room. This is the first time that i saw a teacher sitting there, doing nothing where other teachers will open laptop to show the kiddos some barney show or do some stuff with the kids after 5pm.

4. Cirriculum. The kindergarten that i have chosen provide a comprehensive learning experience for the children. There is gym, music lesson(they will get to learn music notes and instrument), outdoor waterplay, sandplay, outdoor painting, computer class, mini garden where they get to do planting, indoor playarea (tricycle, etc), outdoor playground and a mini library to get the kids to bring a book back home each week to read which i like! :)

For the past 1 week, i have been "pyscho-ing" Adelle abt "new school". Every day, i will tell her that mummy will bring her go new school , ask her if she want to go new school, new friends and no more friends bullying Adelle, etc. But she will tell me that she doesn't want new school, new frens. Haiz... :( So i was wondering when then she will agree to it?!?! Thank God, few days later(this week), she finally agreed to the new school suggestion! Without any delay, we brought her to the Foochow methodist church kindergarten today to take a look. It was quite near to my parents place and it is a kindergarten within a church premise. Adelle seemed to like the place and we signed up immediately as they only left 2 vancancy for the 11.30am-2.30pm session. The morning session 8.15am was fully taken up and there are students on waitlist. I didn't know it was so "hot"....

Anyway, tomorrow will be the school orientation so Adelle will be going to see her new friends! :) Pray that this will be a school where she will learn and grow spiritually, intellectually, physically and socially.

Conversation between Adelle & Hubby

Last nite i was packing stuff in another room while Adelle and hubby were in the bedroom. Then I overheard this funny conversation and it goes like this :

Hubby : "Adelle, stay inside the room and daddy let you play telephone game. Don't go and disturb mummy ok."

Adelle : "Daddy, YOU stay inside the room and play telephone game. I go outside to find mummy. "

Then Adelle appeared infront of me. It was so hilarious as my gal is now telling the dad to stay in the room instead. Even hubby also don't know what to say to her after hearing this.... It just showed that my gal is very vocal in her speech now. Cos there was another occassion and the conversation goes like this :

Adelle was in the midst of telling me what happen in school, who bully who, etc etc...

Hubby interrupt: "Adelle, you very talkative and lor-so leh. "

Adelle : "Daddy, you keep quiet ok. I am talking to mummy."

What else can i say except laughing behind and hubby was speechless... :P

Our relationship through God

A lot of people held their weddings and ROM on this day - 10.10.10 and an ex-mediacorp celebrity Jacelyn Tay held her wedding on that day too. I happened to chance onto this video clip about how God brought them together. It brought me sweet memories of how hubby and I got together. We have some similiarities (but not that dramatic) as depicted in the clip as it all started with GOD. :)


I was looking through my archive and realised that it was not documented how we really got together and our journey with God. So i tot of writing it down in case i lost my memory in 20-30yrs time... :P

YR 2000 - My long distance relationship ended but I found God that year. I was heartbroken at Brisbane with suicidal thoughts but the song "Amazing Grace" just came into my mind. I can never forget that moment. God woke me up that second and I flew back to Singapore, leaving behind the old me in Brisbane. Thereafter i dedicated my time in church activities to know and serve God for a few years as i went through a time of healing with God too.

YR 2004 - My mum demand me to threw away all the flowers and stuffs that i have received from my ex and it took me some time to come to term that it's pointless to keep the stuff since it's OVER. While during my quiet time, God spoke to me and assured me that i will not be single and he will give me a lifetime partner. So i took the courage and dump all the things into the bin eventually. The nxt minute, i received sms from my christian friend. It was an encouraging sms that also assured me of what i heard from God. I know God is with me and he is giving me double assuranced.

July 2004 - Out of the blue, Ifah who met me once during CITPM exam, asked me if I am keen to know friend so i replied ok. Thereafter, Ifah told Airrence that she want to introduce him a nice gal and pass him the email address.

Aug 2004 - Airrence finally emailed me and asked me out for a meal on 7th Aug. Airrence came to pick me up somewhere near my church. It was a casual dinner and both of us ain't have that love at first sight feeling. So we remained as friends.

Sep 2004 - We din contact each other as Airrence dad passed away that month while I am busy helping my fren wedding preparation.

Nov-Dec 2004 - We started chatting via YM during office hours and occassionally i will send Airrence emails about God. Those who know me well, know that i don't go around preach about God. I only shared abt what God has done in my life or some articles about God. Whether my friends choose to accept God is not what i can do but i can pray that God will show them that HE is real and HE is faithful loving God. So during that period, we became good friend online. Meanwhile, i was introduced to a guy in church who is keen to know me as i appeared in the church bulletin coverpage few mths back. However, no sparks between this guy and me despite we met up once after the arranged meet up.

Dec 2004 - Xmas time and Airrence asked if i am free on xmas eve for a meal. I rejected him cos i gotta attend church service but i invited him to join me for a xmas service/performance instead. To be honest, this is my first attempt to ask a non-christian guy friend to attend church xmas service. I was very worried that he will tell me off and there goes our friendship. But to my surprise, he say Ok! I was happy and we met up for dinner before going to my church. I introduced him to my church friends and they tot he is my secret bf.. hahaha.. but nope, he is not! ;) Cos I am still uncertain and praying if he is the ONE that God told me previously. Anyway, we started to hang out more often after xmas and occassionally he will attend church with me too.

Feb 2005 - Our first official date was on valentine day. We decided to give each other a chance to know one another better to see if our relationship will work out.

May 2005 - 8th May was a memorable day for us cos it was my baptism day and Airrence accepted Christ that day. I am glad that he supported my decision to be baptised though he was still a pre-believer that time. Also GOD is amazing as i have been praying for Airrence salvation and it was the best gift that i ever received from God that day. I have never lead someone to Christ but only introducing them to church and abt GOD. And the first person that came to Christ is my husband. :) It was God who brought us together and we want to thank God for his amazing love and grace.

This is a song that i love to sing. I told hubby that if God calls me to go heaven one day, i would like to hear this song sang in my funeral, in remembrance of how God saves me.

Diaperless

Adelle have started toilet training since Mar 10 and now she is totally diaperless the whole day even for her afternoon nap. Though i still put her on diaper when she sleep at nite, she doesn't pee at all. So i haven't been buying diaper for her since May and that save me lotsa $$. :)

The whole toilet training process was a breeze and thanks to the CC that Adelle attend too. Before that, she used to run away from toilet. But one day (after 1 month in CC) in March, she agreed to go on the toilet bowl. I also bought training pants for her and diligently bring her to toilet every hour or so. In CC, the teacher also took my suggestions to bring her to toilet hourly thus the progress was good. After a few leakage, she finally know she has to tell us that she want to pee/poo or do the "biz" whenever we bring her to the toilet.

Finally last month, we (at home and in CC) didn't put her on diaper the whole day including nap time, she didn't pee too. So i am glad to say that Adelle is finally toilet trained. Good girl! Mummy is proud of your little achievement! :) Now is Danelle turn to be on toilet training next....ha....

Primary School

Am i going to be one of the kiasu parents in Singapore? Well, the answer is i think so cos i have started to look out for primary schools that i would like my gals to attend. :P

Previously i have thots of moving to somewhere closer to some good schools but yesterday, i decided not to move. Simply becos the place where i am staying now have some reasonable good schools and even SAP school. I happened to chance upon this website - elite.com.sg and they showed me what are the schools within 1 and 2km from where i stayed.

What is SAP? In short, the school has rich chinese culture and they offer chinese as First Language. The two SAP schools within 2km to us were Kong Hwa and Hong Wen. Looking at the school profile and feedback from parents(online), Kong Hwa is a better school than Hong Wen.

These are the schools near me and my prefered list goes :

1. Kong Hwa (SAP) (Got direct bus from our house)

2. Geylang Methodist (1 MRT stop from us and affliated to Geylang Methodist Sec)

3. Hong Wen (SAP) (No direct bus)

4. Canossa Convent (Got direct bus from our house)

5. Bendemeer Primary (Not keen)

6. Macpherson Primary (Not keen)

7. St Andrew Junior(Not applicable since it's a boys school though we sure can get in cos affliated)

To get higher chances into the prefered school, the next thing to do is to be parents volunteer or get affliated either by religion or clan. Anyway now is still early to do volunter work and lets see which school we decide to apply in the end.. :P

I was organising my photos in my harddisk and found some interesting pics that i took for both of my darlings. I put them side by side to compare and Danelle is a skinny version of Adelle. :D

Annual D&D

This year is an interesting year cos i won tickets again and this time is my company annual D&D. :) There are 20 prizes and I think i got the 18th or 19th prize which is a pair of ticket to the YOG celebration @ Marina Bay. It is a pair of VIP passes to watch the concert on 13th performance by BEAST and 4MINUTE and 22nd performance by ALARICE. Honestly, i don't know who are they but i know there are a lot of fans who want to buy the tickets.

I collected the tickets yesterday afternoon and within few hours, i sold the tickets away for $120. Yeah Yeah Yeah! Interestingly, the buyer are student and to be specific secondary school students. She met me and pass me stacks of $2! I nearly fainted counting the $2 dollar at MRT. I told hubby abt the buyer and he looked at Adelle that she better don't be like them when she grow up and spend all the pocket $ just for a stupid concert. :P

Anyway this year D&D theme was Back to School and it was held at NUS Guild House. Damn far so they chartered buses to send us there and send us back to Clementi and Somerset MRT. Overall it was quite entertaining cos the emcee did a good job and seeing the guys doing the Wonder Girls song - Nobody Nobody but YOU was real funny. But the most stupid thing was my dept was forced to do cheers among the various teams and i am not spared from doing the cheers (clown act) too. Reminded me of my NUS orientation days.... Haiz... :(

My baby app

Usually i will blog about my family and occasionally I will also put up some useful links that i happened to chance upon. Today i am blogging about an app call I Love Deals!!

Why this app and not other app? Well, simple reason - i put in a lot of efforts for this app. :) I work out the product specifications, do up the contract, SLA and engaged developer to develop the app, did testing around the clock (8pm, 2am, 5am, 8am) to ensure that it is functioning as it should be. Finally it was born on 17th July! My first baby app is the Android app and follow up shortly is the iPhone app which was made available a day after iPhone 4 was launched in Singapore.

It was challenging to race against a tight timeline but i've made it! An achievement that i can be proud of and put into my resume. Yes, i am diligently updating my resume cos i am looking for a job. Lately a few recruitment agents calling me to do consultancy work on document management system but I am half hearted cos I know I love mobile phones more than papers.. hahahaa... I love mobile applications and I like to play with the latest handsets. But i REALLY dislike the person that i am working with now cos the person doesn't give me the respect and treat me as his subordinate ordering me to do this and that. Really pissed me off. Seeing his emails every day just made my blood pressure went up. :(

Ok enough of complaining and let's talk abt happy thing. So what so good abt the app? It is easy to use and best thing is i dont have to bring out booklets of different banks offers nor ask the waiter whether they have any credit cards offers. I know everything within the app as I can convenient access the restaurants offers and know which credit cards offer the best discounts! Also there is an AR(Augmented Reality) function and driving direction from current location to the restaurants. Cool rite? :) So remember to download the app if you are reading my blog. haha...

Aquaduck Trial for Danelle & friends

I managed to secure a date on 3rd August for our June babies group to go for Aquaducks trial! Some of them dropped out so only myself, Katty, Carine, Regina and Shannon went!

It was a fun session and the kids have fun swimming in the sheltered pool @ Dempsey Hill! :)

After the class, i waited for hubby to fetch us. While waiting for them, Danelle was saying "cheche" and "dare-dy". Hmm.. when will she call mummy?? ;) After 1 hr of waiting, finally we saw the car and we went to Dempsey Dome cafe for dinner cos it was already 8pm.... so hungry. :(

Danelle is sick

Danelle had high fever twice in July and likely it is due to teething. Poor baby! Hope the teething period will go over soon!!

Princess Danelle is 13 months old on 21st July

Eversince Danelle can walk, she is very busy whenever we are back at home. She likes to take Adelle bag and carry it to walk around the house. She also likes to play with the balls that we got for her birthday party and keep asking us to play with her. Her only quiet time is when she sit down to read book or lazying on the sofa watching TV cartoons. She likes mini and mickey mouse show and will jump up and down the sofa when it is showing on the TV. We also started to introduce her crayons and color pencils and she seemed to enjoy "coloring"... :) She is growing very well in terms of physical(mobility) but we are still waiting for her to grow in her speech to call mama, papa and jie jie.... hopefully it will be soon!

iPhone 4 launch

Went iPhone launch at MBS to help out to do demo. Guess it kinda bored there so we decided to entertain ourselves by taking pictures!

Hubby birthday celebration

We took leave on hubby birthday and went for massage. After massage, we went to catch a show "Inception" and then proceed to buy a cake at Bugis before picking up Adelle to cut the cake @ my parents place. A simple birthday song was sung by Adelle and a kiss from her on daddy birthday! How sweet rite? :)

As for dinner, i brought hubby to The White Rabbit for fine dining. The ambience is superb and nice food too! As it was hubby birthday, i told them to add "Happy Birthday Airrence" to the dessert that we have ordered. We din take the set menu as we prefer to try out those recommended food like the lobster chowder, Crispy duck leg confit, Tenderloin with Foie Gras (my fav!). Expensive dinner but well worth the value!

Danelle lunar birthday on 10th July

It's Danelle lunar 1st birthday and it falls on a weekend so i cooked egg, mee sua and chicken drumstick for her to eat. We put her sat down on the highchair and let her get "hands-on" with the food. She loves chicken and eggs. We are just so amused and entertained with her actions. :) Happy Lunar birthday my cutie pie! :)

Nursery Rhyme-小白兔

Last friday nite, out of the blue, Adelle started saying this :

小白兔白又白
两只耳朵竖起来
爱吃萝卜爱吃菜
蹦蹦跳跳真可爱

Then i realise that it is a nursery rhyme that she learnt from her CC teacher. Cos i don't have book on 小白兔 nor i taught her nursery rhyme in mandarin. Was very glad that she can recite chinese nursery rhyme and she can conversate in mandarin now. Cos last tuesday, Danelle was having fever and my aunty was talking to Adelle in mandarin.

Aunty : Adelle,帶妹妹去那里?
Adelle : 帶妹妹去看医生
Adelle : 妹妹生病, 吃 medicine

We are glad that Adelle no longer resist speaking mandarin and will respond back in mandarin when someone speak to her in mandarin. :)

Sisters Time

Adelle and Danelle love wearing sleeves tee at home. Coincidentally i found these 2 set of clothing quite matching though it is bought from different places.

Adelle and Danelle also starting to learn to play with another one. As usual, Danelle will not disturb jie jie and quietly sit next to her.

I was clearing leave on the 9th July and brought the gals out to Fidget. They spent 2 hours running up and down the slides and luckily i got my maid to chase after them. :P

Adelle can draw happy face

Adelle has been playing with the aquadoodle for quite some time. Most of the time, she will scribble or write over the ABC letters on the doodle mat. However, one fine day, she surprised me with her drawing and she told me that this is "Happy Face". Then she added a pair of ears next to the happy face and it sort of look funny but good try baby! :)

Parties Hopping

For once, June was a very busy month for us. It was because we were invited to Danelle's friends - Cayden, Kaley, Sermaine, Augustine and Genieve birthday parties. Thank goodness not all my forum friends invited us to their parties else we will be attending birthday party every weekend and got no time for our family time. :P

The first party day was Kaley party on 29th May where Kaley actual birthday falls on 3rd June. It was held at a condo in serangoon area. Many of our forum friends attended Kaley birthday party cos Katty got good network with the rest of the forumers! :) It was Strawberry Shortcake theme and the 3D cake was from eCreative. The family were dressed in pink to match the theme! Nice! I was surprise that Kieren (Kaley brother) still remember Adelle when we reached the function room and he pulled Adelle to a corner and wanna play with her. The rest of the babies were having fun @ the pool of balls.

The second party day was Cayden, Augustine and Sermaine parties on 5th June and we managed to attend all the 3 parties in 1 evening. ;) Cayden theme was a Pooh bear theme and he also got a 3D pooh bear cake from eCreative like Kaley. Only Katty and myself were there cos the rest were also invited to Sermaine or KaiQi party. Then we head off to Augustine party and it was Farm theme. Aug were dressed in the moo moo cow costume that Danelle had took a pic with him @ botanic garden gathering. :) Only myself and Katty were invited but Katty went off to Sermaine party so i help to pass the present to Aug while she help me to pass present to Sermaine. Aug has a nice cow cake from Pine Garden and it was a lychee martini cake which Adelle enjoyed very much! After a short while, we head off to Sermaine bbq party but most of Danelle friends are leaving so we stayed for a while before heading home. We didn't managed to take much pics at Sermaine party cos it was held at a bbq pit at lorong ah soo flat so kinda dark and the birthday gal already doze off when we reached there.

The third party was Genieve party on 6th June and it was held at a pub @ Serangoon Garden. Hubby likes this party cos there is free flow of beer and soft drinks. Only Katty, Judy, Serene, Regina and myself attended the party. The tods get party poppers, hats and biscuits. It was a winnie pooh theme and genieve had a cake from Pine Garden which taste yummy!

The fourth party day was Sofie party on 26th June. Sofie was the youngest among all the June babies. The party was held at Sofie condo bbq pit @ Clementi. Some of us who attended the party went there early so that we can meet for a swim. The gals had fun at the pool and quite a number of the forummers are invited tooo. The kiddos were standing to see the fishes in the pond and some are walking already. It was a sweet pinkish party and was challenging to get all the kiddos to take pictures! Coincidentally, I bumped into my ex-colleague Jasmine who was now Sofie dad's colleague. She was invited to the party and she brought her baby there too. :) Singapore is really small and we bump into each other after 6 years.

Danelle is officially 1 on 21st Jun 2010

It was Danelle birthday so i took her out to Harbourfront to attend a trial class @ Gymboree and spend some time with her without jie jie tagging along and fighting for attention.. :) We also went to the playground @ Vivocity and Danelle had fun!

Before we head back home to fetch Adelle, i brought Danelle to buy her birthday present - a tricycle sponsored by Uncle Jonathan and Aunty Cherling. Thank U! :)

Danelle 1 year old milestones :

• She can walk
• She understand instructions and when i called her name, she will come towards me.
• She can do "bye-kiss"
• She likes to read book

SMH June 09 mummies gathering @ Sophia House

Time flies and the June babies are officially 1 year old in June 2010. Sophia organised a gathering cum birthday party for the June babies on 23rd June at her parents place near Kembagan MRT. I took leave that day and brought Danelle to meet up with her friends. :)

There are some new faces to me as they are not the regulars that i often meet up with but they are on my FB contacts.. hehehee... :P

The highlight of the gathering was Sophia ordered a cupcake for each mum/kid but it doesn't look nice nor taste nice. But still gotta thank her for the efforts and what most interesting was Noah dip his hand into the cupcake while the mums are busy snaping pictures and caught him red-handed. :)

Father Day - 20th June

Father day is always a memorable day for hubby. Why is it so?

1st father day - we shifted in to our new house
2nd father day - our little princess Danelle was born
3rd father day - first time Adelle wishing Daddy "Happy Father Day"

Danelle 1st Birthday Party - 20th June

The Date

We celebrated Danelle birthday on 20th June which is a father day too! Thus many of our friends couldn't join us in the party. Looking back last year, Danelle was borned on father day too so every year, we will be celebrating Danelle birthday and father day together. :)

The Venue

Initially we were considering to hold the party at the functions of Carabelle condo and Ferraria Park. However, it was not available on the date that we want. Not sure is it becos it is June holiday so more difficult to book it? So... at the very last hour, i suddenly remembered my ex-colleague Wayne who is also staying at condo near my place and I asked him for help. He managed to book a function room at CitySq residences for me. Yeah, thank God for his provision else we will be holding the party at the community centre opposite my house. :P

The theme

It was a pooh bear party which is similar to Adelle cos Danelle likes Pooh Bear too. :) Anyway, i still have the Pooh bear decorations that was used in Adelle birthday party last year. So i just need to re-use it and add some new party stuff that i bought and was stuck at VPOST previously.

The day

Adelle and Danelle were dressed in the new summer beach dresses that i bought from BP. They looked so cute and pretty in the dress! To match them in the attire, i wore my old flowery top and hubby too.

We reached the function room at 11am and my maid helped to blow up the balloons while i do up the decoration. It was not easy with 2 kids asking for attention while we have to quickly do up the place with minimum help. Thank God for Wayne and Rachel who helped us to look after the gals so that i can concentrate on the decorations. Hubby went out to get the balloons pumped up in helium and also to collect the birthday cake from Pine Garden. This time, i decided to go for Pine Garden cake instead of eCreative as i always wanted a 2 tier cake and finally it is a dream come true! :P I borrowed the Pooh decoset from my fren and chose the Pooh flowery designs. I simply love the cake!! It's soooo pretty and taste good esp the Lychee Martini! :P~~~ Everyone gives thumb up for the cake.

We also invited Danelle friends (Kaley, Augustine, Genieve, Nesher, Sofie and XiuYing) to join us in the celebration and have a small corner with toys for the babies/tods to hang-around. :) We bought colorful balls to give to each child as the party favors since it is "World Cup" season now and the tods loves playing with balls.

The buffet spread of the day was from Mum's Kitchen as i am a regular customer and so far they have not failed me yet.

We managed to cut the cake at 2pm before Danelle took her nap. Danelle was quite cooperative although she was getting tired and clapped her hands when we sang her the birthday song. We also tried to feed her birthday cake but she seemed to enjoy biscuits more than cake for now... :) Soon after she had the cake, she K.O and our guests start to leave.

After the party

The party ended at 3+pm with Julia & Chee Wee being our last guests of the day. It was nice to see them making a trip down for the party and also I was happy to see Asher too! :) We managed to pack and squeeze all the presents into our Freed in 1 trip! Danelle had a happy time opening up her presents when she is back home. Thank You Uncles, Aunties, Kor Kors and Jie Jies for coming to the party and thank you for your lovely gifts/angbaos! :)

D-O-G

2 weeks ago, hubby on reservist so i brought Adelle and Danelle to polliwogs with my sis and niece. The gals had fun playing at the indoor playground but i find the slides doesn't suit 2 years old kid cos Adelle got a bruise on her face as she let loose of her hand when she is slidding down. I also got some scratches while slidding down with Adelle. :(

During the outing, my sis told me that i can start to teach Adelle spelling so i tot no harm trying out. So that nite, i took out a stack of animal flash card and told Adelle "Dog - D-O-G". Then Adelle repeat after me. After a few days later, Adelle took out the flash card again and i told Adelle "Dog - D-O-G" and she repeat after me again.

Last friday when I reached my parents' house, my aunty told me that Adelle can spell DOG. She was surprised that she told Adelle "Dog" and Adelle spell "D-O-G" for her! Good job baby! Mummy is proud of your achievement! That really motivates me and i think i can introduce her 1 word to spell a week so that by the time she go primary school, she is will know 10000+ words liao.... hehehee... Very KS hor :P

Celebrations and Gathering Weekend

11th June

We celebrated my aunty birthday 1 day in advance since we won't be seeing her on saturday. I bought her a fruit cake and the gals can't wait to get their hands on the cake.

12th June

Soon Yeow and Yuan Shan was my good old frens in uni and we have been trying to meet up after Soon Yeow gave birth till now. :) Finally the long awaited gathering happended at Yuan shan new house. We brought our kids to Yuan Shan house (a walk-up apartment) in Kovan for a brunch and Soon Yeow bought a cake to celebrated my birthday(last mth)! Thanks gals! :P Yuan Shan house was super duper big and spacious! Interestingly, Adelle and Tessa are born in the same year while Danelle and Zed are born in the same year. Hope the next time when we gather, the kids will be enjoying each other company since their age gap is close.

In the evening, we went to Baby Olivia full month and Yosher 2nd birthday party. It was a sweet cupcake for Olivia and nice jelly for Yosher. During the party, Adelle was busy having fun with Chris and she helped me to baby-sit and entertained Adelle the whole evening... hehehhee... :P

13th June

We brought Adelle for a swim and Danelle can't resist the water and jump into it. So she was half-naked as we didn't bring swim suit for Danelle... :P

Bye Bye Pacifier

Yeah..finally Adelle has stop taking pacifier for 1 mth already. She has gotton over the pacifier addiction! :)

What i did was send her to childcare center in Feb and tell the teacher to help her to stop taking pacifier! Then progressively in Mar, the new class teacher managed to convince Adelle not to take pacifier for nap time. But once Adelle reach my parent place, she will ask for her pacifier! :( Guess she is still very addicted to the pacifier as she used to take pacifier from 9 am till 8pm previously so it will probably takes some time to get over it bah!

Anyway, this continue for a few weeks and suddenly in mid Mar, we realise that she has not been asking for pacifier when she is at my parent's place in the evening. However, she will ask for pacifier at home before her bedtime or during weekend naps. This continue until late April and one night, i told Adelle if she want pacifier, mummy will not pat her to sleep. So it's her choice - Mummy or pacifier? Being a smart gal, she chose me over pacifier! :D Then gradually she has forgotton about her pacifier and since then, she don't ask for her pacifier.

There are times that i wanted to get out of the room to settle Danelle so i counter offer her the pacifier so that she can go to sleep on her own but she rejected my offer and ask me to stay behind to pat her instead! Haiz.... on one hand, i am happy that she doesn't want the pacifier but on the other hand, i can't get out of the room until she sleep!! :P Human(Adult) are so contradicting sometimes....

Verbal instruction

Danelle doesn't like to watch "Your baby can read" thus the only way to teach her is by talking to her and telling my maid what to teach her during day time. So since the month of May, we have been teaching her the words "Clap" and "Bye".

After few weeks of training, Danelle can understand verbal instruction of "Clap" and "Bye". When i say "Clap", she will automatically put her hands together and do a clap! When i say "Bye Bye", she will open and close her hand to indicate bye! She can do all these just by listening to instruction. Good job baby! :)

Adelle church friends

Every week, Adelle will get to meet her church friends and her best friend is Caleb kor kor as they see each other every friday and enjoying playing together. They always posed for me to take pictures of them and they look forward to see each other too! :)

Another group of Adelle church friends are those that she see on every saturday. They are the ones that she knew since the first day she goes church with us when she was 1 month old. They are Becky, Grace, Xanthe and Tanish. Yes, it is a gals group and all of them have grown to be a pretty little babes too! :)

Playground and Swimming Pool

Adelle & Danelle loves outdoor activities so we tried to bring them to either playground or swimmng pool every other week. The nearest swimming pool to our place is the one @ Geylang Bahru while the playground that we usually go is the one at our house roof garden or the playground @ punggol park. Another new place that we visited this month is City Square Mall and they have outdoor playground and fountain that Adelle likes to get herself soak in it!

My birthday celebration

I had 3 birthday celebrations this year, 1 with my beloved family, 1 with my cell group friends and lastly with my colleagues! :)

4th May - Celebration with family

First thing in the morning, Danelle said "mama" while Adelle told me this "Happy Birthday Mummy, I buy present ok". My gals are really sweet and these are the priceless gift that they can give me. :) Hubby and i took leave that day and we dropped Adelle in school, Danelle at my parents place in the morning. After that, hubby went to pick up the flowers for me and we went for massage and watched Iron Man 2. It was a nice show. In the evening time, we went to pick up Adelle and she chose the cake for me and of cos Daddy paid for the cake. It was a sweet pinky heart shape cake which taste good too. Thereafter, we head back to my parents place to cut the cake with Danelle while Adelle sang me the birthday song too! Then we left the kids at my parents place and hubby brought me to Gyu-Kaku for nice japanese bbq dinner. The beef and lamb taste really good! Yummylicious... :P~~~ Oh ya, hubby promised to buy me a camera for my birthday gift this year cos the current one that i had was bought 4-5 yrs ago and the pics quality are getting bad now... Look forward to my present in june!!

7th May - Celebration with cell group

My cell group friends celebrated my birthday every year and as it is mother day that weekend, my friend bought me a "mother" birthday cake... hehe.. so funny! :)

10th May - Celebration with colleagues

Our department has stopped celebrating staff birthday since the last 2 years but now it is back after we feedback to our VP during the staff survey. It was a 3 kg peppermint cake and there are 4 of us born in May so each of us get a birthday candle. Since it is the 1st birthday celebration after the long "break", everyone happily eating the cake!

Adelle's first performance at School

We are invited to attend Adelle's CC PTC session on 13th May. It was a evening session that starts at 6.30pm with dinner, followed by picture montage and updates of what the children has done over the last semester and what they will be learning in the next semester.

We are one of the first few who were there early and the dinner was fried bee hoon, cakes and ribena. The adults and children ate together at their breakfast dining area. We get to chit chat with Adelle's classmates - Megan and Jerick parents. Megan is Adelle's best friend in school and Megan's dad is an English man while her mum is Chinese. Very pretty little gal! :) While Jerick is a new classmates of Adelle who is a daddy boy and he was super gloomy until his dad turn up at 7+pm and he started to jump up and down.

After dinner, we had family games which is bingo. The teachers done up pictures bingo and told us that we can do this as a family games at home too.

Then the teacher started by showing us a picture montage of what they did in school. From the morning breakfast, assembly, art time, story time, gym time, bathing time, nap time and until their afternoon snack time. The kids are sooo adorable and funnie in some of the pics! Adelle can identify and name all her friends as the pic came up in the montage. She is really happy that evening.

After the montage, the teachers run through what they have done for the last semester. While they shared what they do in class, the teachers called upon Adelle and Megan to do the song and action using "Two little dickie birds" song. They change the bird name to Adelle and Megan and the two girls can do the action very well. I am proud of my darling that i forgotton to video it down.

Next, the teachers called upon the children again to perform another song - Teddy Bear. Again, Adelle and Megan are the only ones that followed the song and do the action. Cos the rest are haven't reach 2 yrs old thus run around the room most of the time. Megan is a Feb baby and that makes Adelle the eldest in the class. :)

Highlights of Danelle achievement @ 11months - Walking a few steps

Another month to go will be Danelle BIG 1. :) She is now able to clap hands, stand confidently and walk a few steps on her own. Good Job baby! Mummy and Daddy are proud of u. Danelle can also sit on the motorcycle @ the playground steadily and riding bicycle on her own too. She enjoy swimming and water play! Thus, our weekend hangout place are the playground and swimming pool since the gals loves outdoor activity. Oh ya, not forgetting to add that Danelle is a Hi-5 fans too! She will wave her hands when she see Hi-5 shows. :)

Show Luo “3D WORLD LIVE TOUR”

Yesh! I won a pair of tickets to watch Show Luo " World Live Tour" from my dept lucky draw. But it is for tomorrow (saturday) at 8pm so i can't go as there is no one to babysit my 2 babies. :(

Inititally i wanted to pass to my staff but she too has the tickets. And so happen that my colleague Justin asked me if i am going to watch or wish to sell. Well, since i know i can't make it so i say i wish to sell loh!!! :P Then Justin told me that another guy call Vincent know pple online wanted to buy the ticket for $100. Hohohoho.... So i joke with Vincent that if he can really help me to sell away the tickets at $100, i will give him 50% revenue share!!! Then he can give 10% to the "co-broke" agent Justin! ;)

So we agreed at this business arrangement and i left the tickets with Vincent so that he can help to post online to sell for me. Within 1 hour, Vincent text me saying that he has sold the ticket for $100 and will pass $50 to me on monday! wahahahhaa....good$.... no need to do anything & money comes in! :P Usually i am the one who will volunteer to post online but this time round as the show is tomorrow, i dont want to risk the chance of selling thus willing to pass to Vincent since he has the "lobang" to sell the tixs. Anyway i also dunno who is Snow Luo so to me, i prefer $ more than watching the concert... :P

Adelle is sooo kawaii these days! I am always amused by her mischevious acts every now and then. Look at the funny pics of her!

Danelle can walk!

After 2 few weeks of wobbly and assisted walking, Danelle mastered the skills of walking. She finally can walk > 10 steps on her own!

Another significant milestone and achievement of Danelle at 10.5mths! Good job baby! Recalling back, jie jie only walk at 14months.

What are the roles of the husband and wife in a family?

Recently a friend posted this qtn on FB - Why mother has to be the last to sleep and the first to wake up? How true and yet how sad that this seemed to be happening to most mothers including me. :( Except the few fortunate ones like my cousin's wife who get a off day weekly to hang out with her friends and no need to look after her baby at nite. Cos my cousion is the one who will wake up to attend to the child and look after the baby at nite and weekends.

Besides sacrificing sleep, there are many other sacrifices that a mother/wife put in but yet not getting the due respect that she deserved. I was browsing the web for a biblical view on this and saw this article. There is no dispute of what i know and what i am asking for. But GOD, does all husbands aware of these basic principle as well?

Happy Weekend

Weekend started on friday cos we went for cell group and Adelle gets to play with Caleb! She is always looking forward to play with Caleb. :)

Sat after church service, we brought the gals to the Playhouse @ Rochester House to check it out since it was newly opened. The toys are very new and in good condition. However, i find it a rather small playhouse so we left in 1 hour since they charged hourly. The food prices there also not cheap so we didn't stay for dinner. Overall, it is a nice playhouse for gals but i don't think i want to go there again as it doesn't worth the price.

On sun morning, we brought the gals for the most photogenic siblings competition @ Whampoa CC. Initially i tot we can bring any of their photo for the competition but it turn up that the siblings have to be at Whampoa CC to take picture on the actual day. Anyway, Adelle & Danelle didn't put on their happy smile infront of the camera and they can't sit still for the photoshoot session so we didn't win anything. :( Anyway i have expected it so i just join for fun. :)
