Belated birthday celebration with church friends

We haven't had cell group for a long time due to the series of SSL since beginning of this year. Finally, we are meeting on the 3rd week of May and celebrating monthly birthday ie May baby!

Meiying bake a butter cake for the celebration and i am the only one born in May. :P

She also helped us to take a family pic. See the difference between last year and this year? Same people and same background but i fat liao and adelle a BIG girl too!

Baby #2 - 10th Check up on 16th May 2009

The min i stepped into gynae clinic, he told me that he cannot go MT A cos swine flu has spread to Msia so it become worst now. Haiz... Anyway, we have decided that we WILL go MT A regardless gynae is coming along or not lah! :P

During the scan, baby #2 head is down and weight is 2.535kg @ 35 wks. So gynae told me that he will continue to monitor bb weight else he will ask me to go c-sect at 38wks. Gynae told me that my diet should not have durians, red meat and milk so that bb#2 won't put on too much weight quickly. Well, this one i can compromise cos i don't want another giant bb too but i have clocked 15kg to date!. :(

After we left the clinic, i post in my june mtb forum and told my forum frens that i m going MT A regardless gynae is coming or not. Some of my june mtb who are also seeing Dr Adrian wanted to go MT A but kenna rejected by him too. So one mtb after hearing that my mind is fixed, her hubby called up MOH and various hospitals to check is this a rules set by govt or by gynae himself. After the investigations, forum fren's hubby called up Dr Adrian and asked him why he enforce such rules while govt didn't say so? Eventually Dr Adrian told him that if you want to go, no issue with him now. Well, what does it say from this? It is gynae who doesn't want to go loh..... All of us are soo happy that we "won" the war! :)

Princess is 16 months old on 16th May

Finally! 1 week before Adelle turns 16mths, she can stand up on her own and walk around the house like a little adult. This is the day that we've been waiting for and glad that she has decided to walk liao! Eversince she started walking, it also means we are getting busy. Cos she will walk around the house to take a peek at the kitchen or ask for food or follow us around the house. Also she doesn't sit still to watch tv unless it is her favourite mickey mouse clubhouse show.

One good thing is she doesn't dare to enter the kitchen and toilet. Cos since she started crawling, i been "warning" her so she know that she is "barred" from entering these two areas. Save my $ cos no need to buy those children gates for my kitchen. :P

We also realise that Adelle favourite hobby now is dancing and singing! She will dance + action + sing along when she hear the songs like incy wincy spider, little teapot, mickey mouse clubhouse songs, old macdonald, twinkle twinkle little stars, head shoulder knees toes etc

Other significant progress was her vocabs! She know and can say apple, clock, star, bag, bye, shoes, cat, dog, milk, ball, fish, banana. She call my dad "Ah Gong" and my mum "Mah" and daddy as "Ah Pa".. BUT she doesn't call me leh.... :(

Adelle can also understand instructions like

1. "Go and wear your shoes shoes" and she'll walk towards the door and sat down waiting for someone to put on the shoes

2. "Go to bed bed" and she'll walk towards our bedroom and crawl up the bed

3. "Go and change change" and she'll walk towards her room to get her diaper change

4. "Want to play toy toy" and she'll walk towards the toys room

Now she also know how to nod her head or shake her head when i ask her if she is a good girl!

Lastly, she is a typical girl cos she can multitask!! She can watch tv and put the coins into her piggy bank!! :D

Mother Day celebration

This is my second mother day with my darling. However, Adelle still doesn't know it's mother day so no special surprise from her. Lately, i have started to let her attempt to draw with crayon and she can draw pretty well! Hopefully by next year, she can draw something for me lah! Hehehee... :P

So did i spend the day? We went to Plaza Sin to settle hubby starhub subscriptions. We also planned to go for dinner with my parents thus, 1 week before mother day, i called up and booked a table @ House of Seafood . We r keen to try out the seafood there cos we often drive passed Serangoon Rd(Off Serangoon Garden) and saw a lot of people eating, so we tot it must be nice rite?!? Well, the whole thing turn out to be a horrible experience!

We reached the open air restaurant at 7.30pm and informed the waitress that we have made reservation. Guess what? The waitress then start to find seats for us!! Wah cannot take this mannn... reserve still need to get waitress to find seats then why take our reservation in the first place?!??! Simply can't understand.

10 mins later, the waitress came back and tell us to go to table # 10 later cos the people are paying and leaving soon. However, we waited for 30mins and the people were still happily eating and there was no sign of them paying at all! It gets on my mum nerves and my mum started to look around for other tables while i questioned the waitress how come it takes 30mins and yet the people is still stuck at the table. She couldn't answer me and keep telling me that soon soon!

Few mins later, my mum managed to find a table that people have settled the bill and they let us have the table.

We asked abt 5 waitresses + cleaners to clean the table but none of did so. They keep telling us ok ok but never return. Finally after 15 mins, we managed to get a cleaner who return with a pail and clean up the mess and put up a clean sheet of table cloth.

Next, we asked the waitresses to take order. As usual, one waitress say ok and made the request via the walkie talkie but none came back to take order. We approached another 5 waitress and waited for 30mins but NONE came. All we saw was there are many furious customers who were making noise/complaints at the kitchen. They were questioning when their order will be served and how come some people came late but got their food first while they waited for 2 hrs but NO food at all. Finally, we managed to get 1 waitress to take order and first thing hubby asked was - can you check with your kitchen staff, how long it takes to serve the food. The lady went to kitchen and returned telling us that it will be 2 hrs!!!!

All in all, we wasted 1+ hour waiting to be seated, waiting for the table to be cleared and getting a waitress to attend to our order! It was 8.40pm and all of us are hungry so we decided to leave the stupid place and look for food elsewhere.

We drove to macpherson area for the fish head steamboat and the crowd seemed to have left. So we managed to find a table within secs and place order at around 9pm. However, we only get our food at 9.30pm... *FAINT* We never knew that a simple dinner ended up to be a torturous experience, simply waiting for food. What a unforgettable mother day celebration! :(

Lessons learnt
1. Don't bother to go to House of Seafood - Terrible service
2. Don't attempt to arrange mother day dinner on the actual day

Here comes FREED!

On 8th May, we bid farewell to our dear FIT and collected our new FREED. :)

See the small brother parked next to the big brother. There is a lot of sentimental value for small brother FIT cos it was the first car that we bought and it was our wedding car too. A bit bu she de when the car dealer tell me to say "bye bye" to FIT b4 he drove the car away. :(

When we got the keys into the FREED, we were so busy and excited to explore the various electronic parts and the DVD player too. So many functions inside there and of cos the reverse camera looks good especially for me who can't park.... Hehe... I tried to drive a bit around the turf city carpark and i need time to work on my parking skills... :P


Overall, we are glad that we've bought the car cos it was much more spacious and higher roof ceiling as compared to the small brother. The car is very quiet when we drove on the road too! Even Adelle was very happy and loves the new car too! :)

Before I was a Mom...

Before I was a Mom,

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body..

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,

before I was a Mom .

Just a simple poem that spoke deep into my hearts.

My birthday celebration

Yes, I am a year older again. This year i celebrated twice for my birthday and had a memorable celebration! :)

The first celebration was one day b4 my lunar birthday @ my parents house together with my sis whose lunar birthday falls on 2 days after mine. :) When we sang the birthday song, Adelle was very happy and clapping hands. I still remember last yr Adelle was 4 mths old and she was kinda blur blur when i celebrated my birthday with her. See my last yr posting here. This yr, she can even blow my candles loh.... ;)

The second celebration was on my actual birthday (4th may). Hubby and i took leave that day. We brought the maid for interview @ MOM and then we went to check out speakers price for our new car. While we were outside, hubby drop by Ubi area to collect flowers for me! :D It was a bear holding chocolate & flowers! So i told hubby that the bear must be meant for Adelle, chocolate for him and flowers for me loh... ;)

In the late afternoon, we went to Vivocity to watch X-Men Origin Wolverine. It's been soooo long that we last watch a movie @ cinema and we glad that we left the "big" and "small" light bulbs @ my parents house that day. Cos we can go a lot more places and watch movie too! :P After movie, hubby treat me to a birthday dinner @ MT Faber.

At MT Faber, hubby had made reservations for the cable car dining and we proceed to the toilet b4 boarding the cable car as it was a 2 hrs (3 rounds) ride. The toilet at MT Faber is nice leh.... got nice sofa, fish tank and oversee the Keppel Bay scenary wor.

We board the cable car at around 6.45 to 7pm and we got the soups to start off the ride. We ate while we enjoyed the sunset scenary and took pics too! Each ride took abt 20+ mins to and fro MT Faber and Sentosa. The view @ Sentosa aint that good becos of the IR that was in the midst of building. Otherwise, it will be more perfect!

When we were back at MT Faber for the second round, the waitress served us the panfried fish and grilled chicken that hubby had pre-ordered. Nice stuff!! Hubby and i were quite surprise that the food was good and price was reasonable too! We didn't go for the wine set dinner cos i cannot take wine now. Otherwise, even nicer bah?? :P

The third round was dessert time! They served us the apple crumble and also not forgetting the pre-ordered birthday cake! It was a small black forest cake from Swiss Bake! Small but good enough for 2-4 pax! :) The waitresses put a candle on it and sang the birthday song while the cable car was making the round turn. Luckily they managed to put the cake into the cable car b4 the door close! :P

We ended the ride at 9pm and decided to buy the customized snow globe to keep it as a souvenir. :D Overall, it was a nice and memorable dining experience.

Thank U friends who dropped me birthday greetings via SMS and Facebook! And also not forgetting to thank u my dear dear for the wonderful birthday celebration this year! I look forward to a different surprise next yr... wahahhaaa.... :-*

1st May @ East Coast Beach

It's a public holiday and our original plan is to bring Adelle to Sentosa for a picnic session. Yippee!! :) But hor, Adelle only started her afternoon nap at 2.45pm and woke up at 5pm. Thus, too late to go sentosa and we changed our plan to go East Coast instead.

Since it was late evening, hubby and i decided not to picnic and ate up the egg sandwiches and grilled taiwan sausages that i had prepared after our lunch. Yummy yummy. While, my maid get to eat the second plate of my home fried kway teow mee for her early dinner cos i didn't know 1 packet of yellow noodle + kway teow can feed up to 4-5 paxs.... :P Hmm, did i mentioned that i have been cooking lunch every weekend now? I have ventured out from normal fried rice/beehoon to fried tomato rice and now fried kway teow mee loh. Dunno what else to cook for the coming weekend... ;) Maybe time to buy a recipe book? But i am not someone who likes to go by measuring cup and reading pages/steps while cooking. I like to watch pple cook then DIY kind of recipe. Hehee.... reminded me of my days in HK where i cooked my dinner every nite for 6 mths .

Back to our evening trip to East Coast Beach. It was kinda jam. Cannot believe that at 6+pm, we need to queue up for car park lots. Finally we found parking lot and brought Adelle to stroll in the beach! Look at her pics above... she simply loves the waves that washes her little feet! We let her enjoying the cool sea waves for abt 15mins b4 the sun set in.

Overall, it was a fun trip though a short one. Will bring her to the beach more often next time. :)

MMR Jab

Finally, we brought Adelle for her MMR jab on 3rd May. It was a painful jab cos the GP poke twice on Adelle's butt becos Adelle was moving around when he first attempt to poke her. Poor baby was crying for a few seconds and stopped immediately once the needle is removed. :D The GP also did a progress checkup based on the MT A booklet and Adelle can accomplished most of the tasks listed for 12 to 24mths except climbing stairs.

Thank God that no fever developed! Although on the 11th day, her forehead was slightly warm but the next day, it's back to normal! :)

Baby #2 - 9th Check up on 2nd May 2009

It's swine flu now and the clinic is packed! However, we are not asked to take temperature leh. We tried to leave Adelle outside the clinic but gynae heard her crying and say "Never mind, just let her come in." We tot he will be irritated cos every visit, Adelle will cry when she gets into the room. But surprisingly, Dr Adrian is immune or rather ok with Adelle crying wor...

Took a quick scan and Baby #2 is head down. But next min, gynae say her head is on the left side of my tummy?!?! Hmm... seemed like baby #2 is still floating here and there happily. Her weight is now 2.192kg at 33wks while jie jie is same weight at 32 wks. As for me, i have put on 14kg liao... *Die*.... within 3 wks, i put on 2 kg.... how?!?! Still got 1+ mths to go....

Now here's the disappointing news. Due to swine flu, Dr Adrian say he will not be able to go to MT A for delivery cos 1 doctor is restricted to go 1 hospital only and very mah fan now as he has to wear gloves, mask, gown when he enter hospital now. So he can only go TMC unless swine flu hype is over by then. Haiz.... hubby and i was disappointed cos no more gold coin collectible for baby #2 and the traffic jam @ TMC + parking puts us off always. :(

Anyway, I can only pray that swine flu hype will die down soon so that i can still go to MT A for delivery cos gynae say Singapore over-reacted and also pray that baby #2 weight is under control so that i can still attempt to deliver her via natural birth. Based on Adelle history, I had c-sect becos of big baby Adelle so gynae say will continue to monitor #2 weight b4 deciding if I can still try natural or just go straight to c-sect. The tot of c-sect just scared and worried me cos the healing process still remains as a bad memory and bad experience for me. :( Haiz.... think I can only pray and control weight for now. The rest is really up to God liao....
