Surrender our old flat

2 weeks after we shifted out, we went back to our old flat to see-see-look-look and saw a post-card stuck at the metal gate. The card was from HDB asking us to arrange for appt to surrender our flat. I was quite surprised that they have spy cos they knew we have moved out?!?!?! ;-)

I called up the HDB officer next day and she told me that they have forgotton our extension request so they send down someone to check out our unit. Chey.. tot really got spy. :P So I told her that we have just shifted out and can return the flat in july. She proposed to me end July and we agreed on 28th July at 4pm to meet and return the key.

Prior to return key, I was told to ensure our windows are retrofitted. Retrofit means to ensure that the windows screws are stainless stell. Siao right... old flat demolishing in few years time also must retro-fit dunno for what purpose. Anyway, bopian have to comply to this else cannot get back my $$$. Yes, HDB retain some $$ from us until we return the key successfully.

28th July
I took whole day leave cos it's hubby birthday. I went back in the early afternoon to sell off the last 2 pieces of my old furniture then head towards bugis to shop first. By the time i returned to my old flat, the HDB guy left a post card on my metal gate again!!!! He claim that he was there between 3.50-4.10pm. I was there at 4.10pm loh but didn't see anyone so i called the HDB officer to quickly recall back the guy. However, was disappointed to know that the guy has gone faraway and was told that she can only help to reschedule another round of appt - 12pm on 30th july. Sianzzzz....

30th July
I head back to my old house during lunch time and saw the HDB guy was there already with hubby. He said the windows screw are not acceptable and we have to change them. This uncle was quite nice and told hubby that actually no need to be so "honest" to show the windows screw cos hubby has only changed some of the screws. Anyway we are told to make appt again... Haiz..... and managed to secure 31st July 9.30am slot after begging them to put it earlier so that i don't need to take leave again! Poor hubby have to go back @ 10pm to change out all the screws with no lights in the house cos we have terminated the power supply since 2 wks back.

31st July
I was there at 9am and thank god the guys came early at 9.15am. I just show them one window and the uncle say OK! Then he asked me to sign some documents and pass me a cheque. :D I passed him the wooden door key and that's it. When i was leaving, they are busying locking up the windows and stuff newspaper into the window bamboo holes which they say to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. Looking back, i am very happy that i m one of the earlier people who shift out else by then the estate will be mosquito breeding ground. :P

Pics @ Church

Every sat, we will bring baby adelle to church.

The little girl next to her is Baby Rebecca. Both of them are trying very hard to crawl. :)

Baby adelle look very style-lo in that pink little jacket rite?? :p

My hubby birthday - 28th July

This year hubby had 3 birthday celebrations and ate 3 cakes! ;)

The first celebration was celebrated during cell group and the cake was shared with Julia whose birthday also falls in July.

The second celebration was a surprise for him! I invited his friends to come over for house warming and i secretly pre-ordered a birthday cake for him! Hubby celebrated his birthday together with Randy cos they both had the same birth date but 1 year apart! :P We also took a family pic with the help of Vozza who use potato chips to lure baby adelle to look at him and Esther helping to snap the pics for us. Thanks Vozza and Esther! :))

The third celebration was on his actual day! I was on leave that day and booked One Rochester for a private dinning session. Of cos we did not forget to bring our "third party" along. ;) This time round our darling was very guai cos she sitting there quietly in her pram looking at us having our candle light dinner. Unlike during my birthday where i had to carry her throughout the dinner.

Although it was a monday night, we do see people going there for dinner. We used to think that place is more for drinking than dining but it seemed to be different now. We ordered parsley soup with crab meat, lamb sausage, beef tenderloin and lamb shand. Overall, we find the ambience and food is quite nice especially the soup, sausage and beef! We also had a bottle of red wine to go with the dinner. The red wine taste chocolatey and nice too!! Not forgetting we ended the dinner with a specially prepared birthday cake (paline mousse cake) for my beloved hubby. The waiter and waitress sang birthday song for him too! :)
Lastly, guess what? My darling poo poo and the waitress was nice enough to let us change her in one of the private rooms upstair! :P So far i think they are quite family friendly cos i read review from somewhere that there are some restaurants that forbid strollers so i will give those a miss!!
Here are pics of food :

Super modelle - more pics

Few weeks back, my office is giving away free and good quality bean bags ! All we need to do is to click the color button in MS Outlook and next, i received email that got 5 pple wanted to get blue color so gotta draw lots to see if i got the bean bag. Well... I got it!! :) We put this bean bag in my "entertainment cum computer room" cos it's blue color - matches the room.
For the sake of fun, I left my super modelle in it and she give me the 4 faces of Xi, Nu, Ai, Le aka Smile, Angry, Sad and Laughing.

I also captured the first photo of my darling sitting up on her own without any support behind and other pics of her sitting upright.

Lastly, i started to introduce this thing call shoes and the first pair of shoes i bought for baby adelle is a pair of white Pooh bear shoes.

NDP rehearsal

My office has free NDP rehearsal tickets and all we need to do is send email then wait to see if we are the lucky winners! Well, i am indeed lucky enough to be the one of the winners who send email out of fun. Anyway, i didn't go lah cos i got friends coming over to my new house last saturday so i passed to one of my colleagues to watch the rehearsal.... :)
Another interesting thing was my uni friend who is working in my company's subsidary co asked me to ballot for him the zoo tickets. Well, again, i got the tickets though there are ~100 people on the queue! Amazing right? Cos he was telling me that he has tried ballot for 4 times but never get the ticket. I only tried 1 time & got the tickets! :p Is it pure coincidence or is it becos i m the "parent" company?? Anyway it doesn't matter as long as i can still get the tickets for my own use the next time when my princess grow older. :) Can't wait to bring her to zoo, bird park and science park!!!

Princess is sick with fever, flu and diarrhoea

My princess was sick the next day after the rotavirus dose. My mum called me in the afternoon to tell me that baby adelle been sneezing, vomit and "free flow" of mucus from her nose. She also has minor fever and loose stools as well. So we rushed back immediately after work and brought her back to the clinic to check is it due to the rotavirus. Of cos before going over to the clinic, i called up to check if the botak doctor is on duty. Well, it's another doctor. :p
On the way to the clinic, my darling was in pain cos she couldn't sneeze out and tears just flows out from the corner of her eye. Poor baby. :(

The flu and all made her very sick so she was very sianz the whole day.... see pic above. When i brought her into the room, she saw it's another doctor so she guai guai let the doctor check on her without crying wor. So it's proven that she only dislike the botak doctor. :p The doctor prescribed paracetamol for fever, chlormine for flu and lactoguard for diarrhoea. Initially i was quite worried cos hubby is allergy to paracetamol so not sure whether adelle inherit it from him. Thank God that no side effect for all these medicine. :)
While waiting to collect her medicine, i took a phamplet and she grab from me and holding it on her own pretending that she know how to read.. ;) I also requested 1 day mc from doctor so that i can take flexi family leave to stay at home and take care of her. Thank God that the next day, fever subside but left with minor flu.

Princess is 6 months old on 16th July

Another month has passed! We have stayed in the new house for a month too! Hehehe....

My princess is now 0.5 years old. :p The most significant milestone for this month is that she can sit upright on her own for 30mins. Concurrently, she can play with the discovery ball on her own. She knows how to roll the ball now so that the music will continue to sing the songs.

At the same time, we brought her to take the second dose of rotavirus and the minute she see the botak doctor, she started crying. Aiyooo... then the doctor told me that probably she recognised him! He requested me to go out to get her settle down first. Then the minute i walk out of the room, she stop crying! So i waited for 1 min and return to the room. My darling turn her head towards me and refuse to see the botak doctor. hahahaha..... then when the doctor attempt to come close so that he can inject the dose, she started screaming and crying again! The doctor really bo- pian and tried to give her toys and make sounds with the box of sweet also no use.

Her weight at 6months is 8.3kg. Princess Adelle has put on 800g over 1 month period. All thanks to the cereal and i also just started to feed her with potato. So far she likes the Nestle cereal and potato too. During feeding, she always like to use her hand to dip into the cereal and make the feeding session a super messy one! ;)

Here are some milestones @ 6th month:
1. She can sit upright on her own
2. She don't need us to help her to burp any more cos all we need to do is let her sit upright and within min, she will burrrp!!
3. She know how to spin the discovery ball on her own now and started to use her right hand to spin

4. She still dislike people who wears spec and botak people especially
5. She will only dare to "scold" 2 persons - my dad and aunty(god grandmother) cos she will make noise like "heh-heh" then these 2 person will quickly run over to carry her!
6. She is trying to crawl but ended up turning around.
7. She tried to walk but ended up walking backwards!

Pics @ Chalet

We had a cell group retreat on 28th June. It was the first time that my princess adelle is going to a chalet! I dressed her up in T-shirt and shorts. Usually on weekend, she will wear her cute little dresses. :p That day was extremely hot and dunno why my princess mood swing again. Throughout the whole day, she doesn't want to drink milk that day and waste my $$$ again.... haiz....
We also took a pic with "ah gong" roy cos he happened to be sitted down with adelle in his laps so we took pic with him and everyone say it's like family pic with ah gong & grand-daughter. :p

Wholesome TV shows/Cartoon

I was reading this article from motherhood and find it quite interesting. Here's an extract :

Sesame Street
This classic educational series is a great way to introduce your little one to the world of numbers and letters

Dora the Explorer
Preschoolers can learn so much from Dora - not just basic skils like counting but the impt life lesson that you can always overcome the obstacles

Bob the Builder
No matter how big the job, Bob & His gang are always positive and upbeat. Their adventures together teach lessons about sharing, working together, perseverance, commitment, and what it means to be part of a family or circle of friends.

Barney
Barney(like him or not) helps to teach kids good social values and manners. He promotes creative problem solving, civic participation, group cooperation and active play

The backyardigans
The characters use their imaginations to create adventures. The roles they assume include pirates, vikings, explorers, and many others. Among the places, they visit are the jungle, arctic, wild west and ancient egypt.

Carebears : Adventures in Care-A-Lot
Carebears illustrate positive ways to express feelings and show care for others. Characters learn lessons in friendship, honesty and patience.

Strawberry Shortcake
Each episode centres on a positive message about topics like self-esteem, friendship, or respect, weaving the lesson into a kid-friendly story.

Hmm... how come they didn't write abt mine & adelle favourite character pooh bear?? :P
