Adelle third injection - 22nd june 2008

It's time again for the injection!

Few days ago, i received phone call reminder from the clinic to bring princess for her 3rd injection. After this injection, she only gotta take 2 more when she reach 15 and 18mths.

Before she see the doctor, she was happily smiling infront of my camera. This time round the doctor is different - a botak doctor with spectacles. Yes, as mentioned in my previous posting that my darling doesn't like people who wear specs thus the minute she sees the doctor, she started crying. When i put her on the bed and the doctor walk close to her, she started sobbing and eventually cried out loud when the needle poke into her butt. But she stopped immediately when the doctor walk away wor.... guess she really dislike botak and with spec guy. :p Then when the doctor tried to look at her again, she sobbed and the silly doctor gave her a sweet! Hmm... can 5mths old baby eat sweet now??!?!?! Well, the sweet treat of cos doesn't work on my darling and i told the doctor sarcastic-ly that "she is too young to eat sweet right?"... ;)

Oh ya her biodate as of 5th mth :

Weight - 7.5 kg (grow 1.2kg within 2 mths)
Length - 66 cm (grow 3 cm within 2 mths)

Based on the measurement, she belongs to the 90% which is higher than the 1st two injection measurements. The doctor also commented that princess adelle looks like a 8 mth old baby and super smart one cos she is wary of him.

Since there is no more injection from now onwards, i decided to take the rotavirus for my darling. The 2 dose medicine cost me $81 after discount. The doctor told me that princess need to complete the 2nd dose by 6mth so that means i need to go back next month for the dose.

Well as usual whenever i am at old airport road, i'll check if Meggie is at home so that i see prince kyden! hehehe... :) But too bad, this time she is at her parents house again. Nevermind as i will be back next month.. hahaha!

The next day after the injection and dose, we observe that princess seems t be supre drowsy and keep sleeping and sleeping like she's on drug.... hmm... thank god that she don't have fever but only slightly warm which is quite normal whenever she went for injection.

Happy Father Day - 2008

I didn't know this year father day falls on the 15th June and coincidentally I have arranged for our shifting on the same day. :P So it was a super busy day for us that day cos morning we've shifted over and in the evening, we have to rush over to a chinese restaurant @ Beach Road for father day dinner with my family.

We meet our darling there cos we left her at my parent's place to stay over on sat nite. When hubby carry her, she use her little arm to hug her daddy leh. :D So loving right??? Hehehe...

Anyway this year father day is a simple celebration of dinner. And after dinner, hubby went back to new house to sleep while princess went back to stay at my parents house cos our new house is in a mess. Well, let's hope next year we will have more time and more relax to celebrate with our little princess.....

Happy Father Day to ALL including Adelle daddy! ;p

Princess is 5 months old on 16th June

Over the past 1 month, we noticed our little darling is getting very cheeky and smart! Hmm.. could it be the genes that she inherited from me or the milk that she drink?!?!? :p

Anyway, she now know how to bully old man, ie my dad. She always made my dad to carry her by stretching out her hand, making noise and can't wait to get out of the rocking chair when she sees my dad. ;)

Here are some other interesting stuffs/observations:
1. She knows how to hold thing with her 2 tiny hands together eg holding an empty tissue box
2. She likes to pull out her pacifier, look at it before throwing it away
3. She loves to hug her best friend - baby pooh whenever she is in the car seat
4. She is wary of strangers especially people who wear spectacles.
5. She started on the Heinz cereal but it was a messy feeding session and take super long to eat.
6. She will make noise and stretch her hands out when she wants us to carry her.
7. She can flip already and her little legs alway kena stuck outside the baby cot and screaming for help!
8. She loves to laugh out loud.... eg wahahahaha.....
9. She can sit in bumbo seat
10. She likes to make funny faces by twisting her lips
11. She can hold and read book - her baby pooh & friends cloth book
12. She know how to suck her tiny toes!!!

Here is a picture that we took when she's in the Giant Tampines baby changing room. :P

Our New House @ Kallang - Moved in on 15th June

15th june is the day that we've been waiting for! Finally, we shifted out on this day as planned. It was kinda last minute that we decide on the week of 9th june to move on 15th june. Very quickly i took 3 days leave to pack my stuffs and get quotations from several movers that i found from internet or recommendation from forum friends.

3 guys came up my house and the quote varies from Citimap @ $330, 138 Professional Mover @ $280(initial quote is $330) and finally Star Cruise Mover @ $220(initial quote is $250). Besides home visit quotation, i also get quotation via phone where got 1 aunty quote me $180 and another uncle at $240. $180 is ridiculously cheap cos they only have 2 uncle to move and the truck is 10 feet long. But i still feel more reliable to get the mover who came up to view the items we have and indicating the quantity that i want to move out. Hence, i decided to go with Alvin from Star Cruise Mover who quote me $220 for all my stuffs (max 50 boxes). :p

On 14th june morning, i received phone call from Star Cruise to confirm my appointment on sunday 15th june at 9am. So professional rite?? ;) 10mins later, they called me back and say they need to schedule it to 11am instead. I was rather angry and insist why i have to wait till 11am and they explain that they have too many jobs at 9am. Well, seemed like i have no choice but to accept the timing. Looking back, i thank god for the change of time! You know why? Cos I was still busy packing the night before until 4am and work up at 7.30am to continue packing. I was still packing when the guys reached my place at 10.30am. The guys called me at 10.15am to inform me that they are on the way to my place and i told them plsssss come later.... hehehee.... :p

5 malay guys came up wearing uniform and a 14 footer truck parked at the carpark. The final count I have is 54 big boxes and about 10 loose items like luggage and electronic boxes, excluding my big items like king size mattress. The guys are rather fast in their action and they also wrapped up my mattress and furniture to protect it. Within 1 hour, everything was loaded up into their truck and they even accomodate a lot of stuffs that were not indicated in the quotation. Their guideline is as long as the truck can squeeze in, they will move for me. So nice right! :)

One funny thing was in the morning, someone passed away at my blk and below my void deck was the funeral wake setup. The malay guys were asking me is it a good sign for chinese? Well i told them that i am christian so i am not so bang-tang lah. Then when we arrive at our new flat, there is malay wedding at the community area and we can even hear the malay songs at our unit. So the malay guys commented that the wedding is to welcome us (good sign)! wahahhaa....

Overall, we are very happy with their service. The entire shifting took only 2 hours and at 12.30pm, everything is unloaded at our new house. Thumbs up for their efficiency! Let me know if you want their number. Reasonable price, fast, good service and funny people. Where to find right?

Well the next nightmare is to unpack my boxes and stuff.... zZzzzzz........

Our New House @ Kallang - Finally ready!

Yes it's gonna be ready! We are moving this sunday. So excited! :)

I tooked leave for the past 3 days to pack our barang barang. Shifting house is really tiring and nightmare man. :( After packing and stock taking, baby adelle has 5 box of clothes, toys & stuff! *Faint* As for me, i have 7 box of clothes.. hehehe... :p I haven't finished packing and will update in my next posting on our total number of box & our mover service. Akang datang.

Last sunday, we went up to do a final check on some of stuff that require touch up so that Steven can get people to fix it by this week. Here are some updated pictures :

Laminate print of our feature wall, walk-in-wardrobe and low height storage bench is from this company call EDL. I love the floral revolution print and chosen the black for our living room and brown for bedroom.

Other than the print, we also chose on the color theme - Black, White & RED! Yes RED color - Why? Cos eversince our princess born, we find the color RED suddenly looks nicer some how.... :-p
Entrance from the main door - TV console and display shelves
We do not want the usual feature wall for TV cos we find it quite useless and can't put much thing and cost >$1-2k too. We bought a white acylic 54inch CRESTAR ceiling fan from Kleen - $200 best price!! :p

Feature wall that covers bomb shelter
It is laminated with the floral revolution print with grey mirror. It can store all my shoes and lotsa space for storing other barang barang of mine. When you open the door, it is our bomb shelter cum store room. :D

Dinning Area
Well can't expect much for a new 4 r00m flat so this is the only area that we can place our dinning table and chairs. Initially we intend to place a bar cum table counter that hangs on the wall but after much thoughts, we scrap off the idea before carpentry starts. I love my dining light as it is similar to the floral laminate print. Under the light will be the area where my table will be placed.

Cooking Area
Red and white is what we wanted for our kitchen theme. The combination turn up to be quite nice ya? We have a complimentary Cuzino hood and hob so that saves some $. However, we need to buy water tank cos Citygas don't give free one anymore. :( What is the nicest thing in this kitchen is the granite top!

Master Bedroom
Remember i mentioned about the ice cube light? It's the most beautiful piece of light that we bought! Besides that, it's our walk-in-wardrobe from Alumix and we specifically request the lamination to be the floral revolution (brown color) as well. Hubby don't like to have mirror outside the wardrobe so i have a piece of mirror installed and attached to the alumix system. One thing that i find most bo-hua is my low height storage bench which cost us $1500. It looks small to put all my barang barang... :(

Master Bedroom toilet
Well i love my toilet basin, mirror, bathroom accessories(from Hoe Kee) and shower screen. It really makes the toilet looks so different after removing out the HDB basin. :p Oh the shelf under the basin is also custom made according to the size of basin.

Okie thats all for now. After we moved in, will update more pics @ our living area, baby adelle room and study room. :)

Motherhood fair

Well we planned to go there in the evening to see any good buy but we only reached there at 9pm where most of the stores are closing up already. However, I still managed to get the following items :
  • Nestle cereal - 2 for $5
  • Gerber white grape juice - 8 for $5
  • Gerber apple juice (1 litre) - $4
  • Heinz pear juice(1 litre) - $5
  • Heinz rice cereal - $2.50
  • Noah Ark 5 pcs children melamine set - $8
  • Tweety bird potty - $5
  • 3 socks for $5

Also Nestle gave me a lot of cereal sample cos i am the last few customers. Hubby bump into his school friend who is a Prudential agent and gave him some magic pens and crayon. Hmm... Don't think baby adelle know how to draw so soon right??? :p

Bumbo seat

I have been eyeing on bumbo seat to buy for my princess. Before buying it, we happened to be at Expo fair last weekend and baby adelle tried it out with a happy look. So i decided to buy a second hand bumbo for her. Cos i heard babies only use it for a short period so no point spent so much to buy a brand new one.

After looking out at the WTS section for a week, i managed to find a seller who is willing to let go at $30! :D I met her up on sat and saw the condition was as good as new one though she say slightly stain. Coincidentally, my dear friend Meggie also bought a bumbo for her son kyden. Hers is green while mine is lime green.

Adelle new toy - balloon

Today, we went for Janice and Gideon baby boy - Yosher full month celebration at Baywater condo. We thought Aunty Chris will be going too so i dressed baby adelle up in the Osh Kosh jumper that Aunty Chris bought for adelle during her trip in US. *Thanks Aunty Chris* :)

Though the clothes indicated that it is for 6 month babies but my baby adelle can wear clothes of 6-12months liao. So now whenever i want to buy clothes, i will buy >12 months and above. Yes i am a kiasu mum but what to do?!?! If not will waste my money cos she'll wear 1 or 2 times only leh... hehehee... :p
Besides that pretty clothes, we also put on a pretty shoe for my princess. It was passed down shoe but still looks pretty new. So baby Adelle is ready to see her new friend Yosher! :)

Before heading to Baywater, we went to church and attended the first nursery bible class! Yes today is the first lesson of nursery class @ church. Usually we will go there and adelle will take her nap or stone @ her friend Rebecca. However, today the mummies sat around and sing along with babies on the children christian songs + action guided by one of the volunteer help cum mummy. It was fun and adelle was really excited. Though it lasted <>
After service, we went to Baywater @7+pm. We saw Elaine there and she finally brought the balloon for Adelle. This is an 'overdue' balloon which Elaine told me that she will buy Adelle one and visit her when she was born. So until now then we collected the balloon. ;) Since it's been 4+ months since Elaine bought it so she pumped it up this morning and the balloon still looks good! We gave it to adelle and let her hold the string and now it becomes her favourite toy! She enjoy grabbing the string and releasing it to see it fly away. Elaine is quite smart and tie a tag to pull the weight down so no matter how the balloon will not fly away. :)

Baby Adelle new toy - Leapfrog Discovery Ball

Yes finally the Leapfrog discovery ball is here! It teaches Adelle mobility skills like rolling the ball and at the same time sing A-B-C songs, teaches her A-Z, phonics and each A-Z character has a different song too! The ball cost me around S$28 including shipping charges which is almost half price of what the airport or shopping malls in sg are selling. Cheap and she loves the ball and gets excited when she hear the A-B-C song! :)

Car broke down

Hubby called me at 5pm and told me that the car broke down at our new house. All his stuffs including wallet, phone and car key were in the car! You will not believe that the stupid car can auto locked by itself even though the car key was switched on inside the car. So i have to "save" him by going back home to take the spare key. Well thank god that i was able to leave office at 6pm and I quickly went home then rushed over to our new house which was only 1 mrt stop away. :)

We managed to open the car with the spare key but no matter how we tried, the car just couldn't get started and keep "coughing". I told hubby could it be battery flat but he say NO wor... :( As the car was parked along the road which obstruct the road so we have to shift it to the loading bay while trying to get it started. So hubby pushed the car and i control the steering wheel. It was very heavy and difficult to control a broke down car. After abt 15mins, a kind passerby stop by and asked if we need help. Well, without hesitation I say YES and hubby say No. Wah piang i nearly fainted?!?!? How come want to reject help right?

Anyway thank god that the guy came over and see what is the problem and immediately he told us that our battery flat. Then he drive his car over to help to jump start our car battery. Yipee the car is working!!! The passerby save our car! :) He also very kind to tell us to go lavender area to buy new car battery else it will go flat again.

So quickly we went over to lavender and most shops are closed already. But we managed to find one shop and paid $110 for the new battery which the motor shop guy say it can last 1.5 to 2yrs depending on usuage. I also asked him how to make the battery last longer and he shared with me that don't keep using hazard lights(which hubby loves to use that loh... so that explains why the battery went flat suddenly), no high beam, off aircon and radio when you off the car. Anyway it's a lesson learnt for him. :)
