Adelle church friend's Rebecca

Every saturday, we will go to church & will get to see Adelle's church friend - Rebecca in the nursery room. She is 3 weeks older than Adelle, born on 23rd Dec 07 and both of them belong to the "big" category. For the past 2 wks, Rebecca had not been to church and later we get to know that she was sick but has recovered now! Rebecca mummy also told us that she is now 8kg...wow wow!! :)

Last sat, Rebecca and Adelle has started to notice one another and attempt to touch each other hands. Rebecca head is very stable now and can lift up for >20 mins (See pic). While my darling is trying to perform "stunt" of flipping infront of us and trying to imitate Rebecca but I din take pic.... ;p

Hope Adelle and Rebecca friendship will continue to grow as they "graduate" from nursery and then to sunday school, etc etc... :D

Our New House @ Kallang - Carpentry is UP!

This is an overdue post cos we've been busy QC-ing the carpentry work. The first time we saw was a mixed feeling. Excited but disappointed too cos some of the measurements and final product looks a bit off.

1. The carpenter kay kiang did extra drawers with blum system for the tall kitchen unit. So i told hubby if they want us to pay $$, pls get them to remove it and make sure no holes in the drawers. In the end, the carpenter have to lugi and absorb the cost for being kay kiang.

2. The tempered glass shelf cover on the left was very small piece so we make some noise! Then Steven told us that he will do another tempered glass shelf cover for the right side of cabinet for us. Hehee... :p

3. The next shock was the MBR low height bench cum storage is so small & cost us $1500... sigh.... bo hua... :

4. Another shock was the feature wall mirror was kinda small to our expectation. Cos i tot i will have a mirror from head to hip level but no loh.... :(

Anyway, my greatest satifaction of that day is the Rubine sink that fits perfectly well! :p

Princess is 4 months old on 16th May

My princess is 4 months old!
It's getting more and more fun each day with princess adelle cos she knows how to 'talk' and play now. Looking back at the initial 2 months was kinda tough cos trying to figure our what she want whether it is milk, poo or sleep? Really thank god that she is a good baby cos without much effort over at our end, she sleeps throughout the nite eversince then. Lately she has also established a daily routine that she will have her last feed of warm milk at 10+pm and then off to her dreamland till 7am. When we woke up @ 7am, we'll see her smiling at us!! What a joy. :)

So what happened over the last 1 mth?
1. Princes learn & love to grab things! She loves to pull her hanging toys on the car seat cum rocker.
2. Princess learns to hug her "friend" - Mr Elephant.
3. Princess loves to "talk" and it happens every evening on the way home from my parents' house. I guess probably she is trying to tell us what happen in the day time with my mum and dad?? :p
4. Princess know how to tickle mummy!! Yes, this is quite amazing for me cos she did it on Mother day. :)
5. Princess discover her hands exist now and she will cross her hands like as if she is praying. Hmm maybe can start to teach her to pray?!?! :p
6. Princess finally able to lift up her head during tummy time.
7. Princess able to sit upright with some support.
8. Princess appetite drop to 2-3oz per feed weeks before and after the injection. Not sure is it becos of the EBM and partial FM so she mood swing... Anyway now she's on full FM, since then we see that she has started to pick up her intake and now she is back on 6oz for 4 hrs feed.
9. Lastly, Princess sleeps from 10pm now. Hope she will maintain like this when she grows up.

This is a picture of her playing with pacifier and ended up sucking her hand instead.

Baby Adelle new toy

Throughout the last 3+ months, my little princess only have with Mr Elephant & Mr Lion to entertain her in the car seat cum rocker. And lately she noticed their existence and started to grab them with her little hands. ;)

In my previous posting on my biz trip, I mentioned that i wanted to buy baby adelle the Leapfrog baby counting pals. Finally after 2-3 weeks of waiting, i received the toy from my colleague. :) My colleague told me that it is a gift for baby adelle as she refuse to take my $ despite several attempts to pay her back. *Thanks HB*

The minute i show baby adelle the new toy, she was very excited!! She simply loves it and was listening to the various functions of 1-2-3-4-5 and especially the muscial medley which i also loves it too! I left the baby counting pals @ my parents' house so that my mum and aunty can entertain her with this new toy. At the same time, start to introduce her 1-2-3-4-5 which my mum has no prob of speaking simple english in 1-2-3-4-5. :D

Since then, every morning when i reach my parents' house, baby adelle don't cry already. Erm... did i mentioned that she recognise places and people now?? This started few wks back whenever we are @ the door step of my parents' house, she will start to sob and then break into loud cry. Dunno why she now selectively let people carry her otherwise she will just scream out loud! Baby adelle even reject my sis and niece who used to carry her every week before she turns 3 mths... haiz...
Nowadays when i reach mum's place i will bring her into the room and start the musical medley for her to listen and spend 5 min with her. Then she will guai guai lie on the bed and play with the new toy. :) After that, i slowly disappear from her..... Thumbs up for this baby counting pals! It can also be carry around and attached to pram and baby cot or anything that handle. See below pics.

Princess Adelle Hands & Foot print

Finally after 1 mth of waiting, i received phone call that the hand & foot print frame is ready for collection! :) Now have to think where to hang it in the new house....

Tummy time! Part 2

We always wonder is it becos our princess is kinda chubby so she can't lift up her head during tummy time?!?!

Thank God after several attempts to "train" her, we see results! Yes, she can now lift up her head for few minutes and then she will pretend tired and start sucking her fingers.... ;)

Our New House @ Kallang - My MBR basin & Lights installed

We have been comtemplating whether to do a vanity top for the MBR toilet and after spending 1-2 week to check out the prices and types of basins out in the market, we decided to buy ONE!! A Rectangular Countertop Ceramic Basin. :D

A few place that we have shortlisted are Royal Fanco (for Baron & Cristol basin ~ $110 - 120), Eng Soon Huat (Cristol basin ~ $120), Poh Joo (No brand - $95) and lastly Genova (various design and brand). Poor baby adelle has been hanging out every weekend @ such places so must be boring for her. ;p

Anyway, we bought from Genova cos initially the boss quoted us $120 for baron basin and on our return trip again, one of the staff quoted us $80 for the same item! Cheap cheap so MUST buy ah... hehehe... it's identical to the one that Royal Fanco is selling but $35 cheaper leh! :p

All our lights except the MBR are installed. Will update again once MBR lights are up. [Pic left to right : Living room - L box, Kitchen, Dinning, Adelle's room, Study room, Toilet]

Happy Mother Day - 2008

This is my first mother day with my princess. :D Well this picture says it all - "I Love My Mommy". Happy Mother Day to ALL mummies!!

My darling didn't give me any gifts, pictures nor flowers but super big smile and very funny thing that she did today. No one will be able to guess it right becos....... my little princess tickle my chin when she is being carried by me!! :D So funny loh cos usually is i tickle her chin to make her drink milk when she was asleep but today she uses her little fingers and tickle my chin twice for abt 1 mins. We just find it funny and surprise that my baby do know how to tickle people wor... ;) Ain't she smart or just mischevious??
Yesterday, i treated my mum and god-mother aka aunty for a seafood dinner at G7. We also had the frog porridge and salt egg crab! Yummy. My parents and god-mother likes the food but find it expensive. :p
So how did i celebrate mother day today? I managed to get my aunty to help out babysitting from 3pm to 8pm. Hubby and i went for a couple spa treatment which comprises of scrub, steam bath, jacuzzi and full body massage. Shiok! Well, this is a treat from me loh. Not mother day gift from hubby hor.... *wink wink*... ;)

Btw, this week my princess Adelle has started to realise that her hands exist!! She simply loves to cross her fingers and stares at them. Also she like to cover her mouth with both hands. Here pictures that i caught her last nite.

Food for thought...

I still remember during secondary school days that one male teacher told me this story. When his child was born, he was very touched by how great his wife has done for him to bear him a child. So he bought a bouquet of flower to visit her the next day @ hospital and asked his wife what he can give her to show his heart felt appreciation. His wife told him that all he need to do is to love their child. This teacher told the class that because of this statement, he not only love his child but he learn to love his wife even more. Very touching indeed and i think his wife is very fortunate to have a husband who appreciate her so much even after having a child in their life.

My ex-bf told me that he is someone who love his wife more than his child. My brother-in-law is one that love his child more than wife(ie my sister). My brother love his child but also know how to love my sis-in-law too. My husband got no answer to my question b4 princess is born. And until today, my observation is none of the scenario that i mentioned here applies to him. So how about you, your husband or bf? What is yours or their take on this? Child or wife or both or none?

My birthday - 4th May

Yes, i am a year old and not going to reveal my age here too! Ha... :p

This year birthday celebration is in SG. Last yr, hubby and i went to Boracay for holiday during my birthday and we bought a funny obe(yam) swiss roll cake as birthday cake cos can't find proper small cake @ the resort area. But it does taste nice & special!

On 2nd May, we went to Meiying's house for cell group and celebrated my birthday with them. To my surprise, Meiying specially bake a chocolate sour cream cake for me(see above pic)! Yum yum and the chocolate is really rich while the sour cream is a little sour to our taste. Overall it still taste fantastic! Very touched by Meiying efforts to bake a cake so it was quite memorable for me. *Thanks Meiying*

On 4th May, it's my cousin baby gal full month celebration (born in early Apr) so we went there with my mum for the buffet lunch. Since it's mummy birthday so i let her wear the new clothes that i bought in KL. When i got into the car, i saw a bouquet of roses from hubby. Hmm... same trick as Valentine day! ;) But i appreciate the kind thoughts and the flowers. Thank U dear dear. :-* After the buffet session, we went back home to feed princess. In the late afternoon, we went over to Ikea to buy some stuff cos they are having sale! We left Ikea around 8+pm and hubby treated me birthday dinner at a restaurant call Ristorante De Parma @ Serangoon Garden. While walking towards the restaurant, we passby Sweet Secrets so hubby bought me a birthday cake that i choose the flavor - Cookies Cheese cake! Sinful stuff but yum yum!! :p~

During the dinner, my princess not very cooperative cos she doesnt want to sit alone in her pram so i ended up carrying her on my lap throughout the dinner. :-( We took the set dinner with the choice of Lamb Shank and ordered pizza to share + a bottle of red wine. It's been 1 year plus since i had wine cos pregnant last year so don't dare to consume wine... The food overall is good especially the pizza (thin crust) and lamb! After our dinner, we told the staff to serve the birthday cake and the waiter, waitress + restaurant manager brought the cake over and sang birthday song for me. So nice ya! :p They also made a flower balloon as birthday gift for me. Very friendly restaurant staffs and good customer service!

After we had the cake, we were chit chatting with the restaurant manager and she told us abt her experience in this restaurant and this guy call fatpig where he is a food lover cum critic. So interesting... Then she also told us that if she knows it's birthday celebration in advnce, she can give us their famous tiramisu as birthday cake. So friends, next time birthday you know where to go ya! :p This restaurant is very children friendly too cos every sunday, they have balloon sculpting and children call draw on the majong paper(on table).

Oh ya, i also received birthday greetings from my friends. Thank U Eileen, Serena, Chris, Soon Yeow, Yuan Shan, Derrick & Jasmine for your well wishes.

On 7th May, my dad bought a birthday cake for me and intended to celebrate together with my nephews but they went home early becos of exams period. So in the end, we have a smaller crowd to sing birthday song for me. I think my princess thought it's her birthday cos have been singing birthday song and blow candles. :p

This saturday is my lunar birthday & i meeting my uni friends for lunch to celebrate my birthday. :D

Princess First trip out of Singapore

We took leave on 2nd May to bring little princess to collect her first passport! Our queue number was 3614 and 200 pple b4 our turn so it took abt 1 hour of waiting time. Then I asked the counter lady whether we need to change adelle's photo constantly and she say yes if immigration officer say need. And every time change must pay $! Not like last time can just append photo or even can share the passport with parent. Nowadays everything is $. Sigh.... Guess i can't retire early and have to continue to work harder...

After getting the passport, we decided to bring baby adelle out of Singapore for the first time on saturday - 3rd May! Where else can we go? JB loh.... ;)
We left the house around 11+ am and was caught in the heavy jam @ woodlands check-point.. Then our darling drop a bomb!! Yes she poo poo so have to change her inside the car. After cleaning her up, it's almost time for feeding too. I tried to feed her while she was seated in the car seat. Surprisingly she did drink abt 3-4 oz and then doze off when we finally get into JB after being stuck in the jam for 2+ hrs. Btw, now baby adelle know how to hug her best friend Mr Elephant and she enjoyed sleeping in her new big car seat. ;)

The last time that we drove in to JB was when i was 9mths pregnant in Nov and we seemed to have forgotton how to move around JB this time. We went round and round the highway then finally managed to get onto the right highway that brings us to Sentosa to eat the bak ku teh. After our late lunch, we went to Giant to see if we can get any good buy. Sad to say diaper there aint that super cheap now but Enfalac milk powder is cheap! However, we didn't buy lah cos worry it is sub-standard. We only buy some toilet accessories for our new house and also a set of new bedsheet and bottle for my princess. After Giant, we only have time to go carrefour. We bought pooh bear sun shade and clothes for her.

As usual we go to the coffee shop @ pelangi to eat dinner. We love the oat cereal prawn there but find the standard drop already. We ordered portion that can feed 3-4 pax and cost us RM$42. Finally we left JB at 11+ and reached Singapore around 1am.
What a tiring day..... look at adelle face and can tell that she is very stone liao...

Our New House @ Kallang - Bought MBR lights and Kitchen sink

After checking out the streets of jalan besar, balestier & geylang for a week, we finally found the brown color light that is closest to the one that we've eyed on. Since price is not cheap - $260 (the previous black one cost abt $280) then might as well get a bigger and cheaper one right?? Ha.. but the most impt is the color that we wanted. We also bought a ice-cube ceiling lights for our bedroom passage way. I love the ice cube!! :D My ID say we got a good buy price for the ice cube! hehee...

Anyway, anyone who is looking for a place to buy lights i would recommend the following place :

1. Chealsea @ Jurong East - We bought L box lights, dinning & kitchen light. Total cost abt $700+. I find the price quite reasonable though not the super cheapest.
2. Chan Huat @ Balestier - We bought their lights for normal bedroom with some simple design. Cost us $85.60 for 2 bedrooms. I find it cheap, simple & nice.
3. Extreme Lightings @ Balestier - We bought our MBR lights. Cost us $280 after bargain with the sales guy. :p
4. Ikea - We bought our toilet lights there. Like it simple and cute.

Other shops that worth going are :
1. Lightology - Reasonable price and can get about 15% discount when u ask from them.
2. Crown lighting - The owner can help you to source and check out the specific lights that u want but unfortunately the exact size and color that i want, is OOS liao so i have to settle for other alternatives which is the closest one that we saw @ Extreme.

Next, we went to Poh Joh @ Jalan Besar and bought our kitchen sink - brand is Rubine. We did consider to get either Teka and Franke too but after comparing the prices and concluded that Rubine is cheap and forum reviews have been positive too. It cost us $140 for the type of sink we wanted. If you want to buy Rubine, go to Poh Joo cos they give abt 20-25% discount! Eng Soon Huat and some other shop also sell Rubine but only 10-15% max.

End of supply wef 30th Apr

After 'working' hard like a cow for 3.5 months, i decided to stop the supply of breast milk. Some friends say very wasted cos i got good supply. But no choice cos i am very busy @ work + I have to look after my darling at nite so all these makes it tougher for me to perserve on.... :(

Anyway, now my darling is on Total Formula milk and that also means I need to work hard to earn more $ to buy milk powder! :p I find that bringing formula milk out is convenient than breast milk. But her appetite drop tremedously over the past 2 weeks and only start to pick up this week. Since formula milk need $$ to buy so i don't overdose her and feed her every 4 hours so that she can finished up the milk! :)

Now i need to source out where is the cheapest place in town to buy Enfalac liao! ;) If u got good lobang, tell me!! :D
