Business trip

I have been 'grounded' for 1 year plus eversince i took up my current job. ;) Well, i do missed travelling around for business trips and eating SQ food loh! Haha... But i was pregnant last year so it's a good thing that i was grounded too.

Anyway, 2 weeks ago my boss told me that he is planning for a trip in Malaysia KL and ask if i have any issue to travel for a day trip. Hmm.. of cos no issue with me cos it's turn around flight, ma-chiam like silkair stewardess... So 4 of us(boss, myself and 2 other dept colleagues) went together and we left at 0950 hrs return at 2300 hrs.

We booked SQ tickets and it cost each pax around $400+ inclusive tax. It was MH(malaysia airline) flight to KL and return on SQ flight. For both journey, we were only given coffee, tea or juice. No more peanuts liao leh?!?! Hmm times are bad and expensive ya? ;-)

My boss told me to meet at 8am @ airport but when i reach there, he check-in already & send me sms saying he will meet me at the gate. Duh... Then one of the other dept colleagues came at 8.10am but brought an expired passport! What a joke... so he rushed back home to get his passport.

We reach KL airport at 11am and took a cab to KLCC, the place where we suppose to have a meeting there. Since we are early so we took lunch at the food court and then OTOT(own time own target) to shop around KLCC. We are given 2 hours to walk around the shopping mall so i chiong straight to Parkson and Isetan to see if can buy any nice toys or stuffs for my darling. :p

So what did i bought?? A polo tee and a Mini mouse top-skirt set for my princess. I also wanted to buy Leapfrog baby counting pal but worried that i dont have enough RM to last me for the trip so didn't buy it. But i managed to get a malaysian colleague to buy it for me instead cos she went back to KL during the may day weekend. :) It was a good buy cos parkson is selling at RM$69 + 20% discount so cost RM$55. Based on current exchange rate, it cost me ~S$24 which u can't get this price in SG leh... hehe... Oh ya, the exchange rate that i got in KL shopping mall was 2.315 and my other dept colleague told me that she only get 2.2+ from money changer in sg.

The meeting at KLCC lasted abt 2.5 hours and we decided to follow my boss to take train(aka LRT) + monorail to Bukit Bintang for some more shopping. Well, the trains system in KL are not very well connected cos the transit from LRT to monorail need to walk at least 15mins... plus weather is hot there so i regretted wearing long sleeves and jacket some more. :( Anyway, in the end, we didn't buy anything in Bukit Bintang cos it's like Far East Plaza in Singapore but we only have 30mins becos of the stupid travelling time from LRT to monorail took us 30mins already though it is a short distance from KLCC to Bukit Bintang.

Tummy time!

Guess what? I took out the lamaze spin & explore garden gym that our cell group friends bought for Princess Adelle and tried to put her tummy to lie on the beetle & spin her but not successful. She still couldn't lift up her head and saliva keep drooling. See how tired she was after 5mins of work out.... hahahaa... :p

Our New House @ Kallang - Windows Grille is done and Walls with Colors

We went over on sunday and saw the window grilles are all done up. I love the white horizontal frames and blue windows. Though simple but it gives a clean & modern look loh... :p

Besides that, to our surprise, the workers has almost done up with all the painting except for the lollipop stripes that we have requested Steven to do it for the living + kitchen area.

Online spree and purchase

Lately i am very addicted to buy things online from http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/.
First, i bought 2 Medela bottles via the overseas spree thread to replace the broken one that i borrowed from my friend. Supposed to be in the spree #2 but the seller got spare 2 bottles so she sell it to me first and cost me S$10.50 for 2 bottles(price include shipping from US). I think it's cheaper than buying in SG bah.... ;)

Then, i bought Baby leggings cos some of the babies in church are wearing that to keep their legs warm and crawling around too. So i am very tempted to buy too! Bought 2 sets from Kidz Cottage and each pair cost me $10 which is half price of those mummies from church have paid for.

Next, i bought LeapFrog Discovery Ball (see above top pic) via online spree but waiting for it to be shipping to singapore. The ball cost me S$12.17 cos baby centre having 60% which is a good buy! But need to pay shipping fees which i dont know how much yet but i read that singapore is selling about S$50+ so i guess it is still cheaper to buy via spree. :) Looking fwd to collecting the ball.

Our New House @ Kallang - Choosing Colors & Lights

On sunday, we met up with Steven to review the 3D drawings as well as selecting the materials, wall colors and he also brought us to buy lights from Chelsea, a shop in Jurong East.

Colors

Initially we wanted to use Nippon paint but after looking at the catalogue, we decided to go for ICI instead cos the range of colors from Nippon are quite limited as compared to ICI. Here are the colors that we chose :

Living & Dinning - Bright Passionate[Using Lollipop (Wash & Wear) and Fairy Light(Light & Space)]
Master bedroom - Warm Neutral [Using Culture Pearl(All-in-1) and Bisque (Supreme 3-in-1)]
Adelle room -Pinky [Using Doll House (All-In-1) and Fairy Light(Light & Space)]
Study room - Bluey [Skylight(Light & Space)]

Lights

We drove all the way from Upper Serangoon Road to Jurong East and paid $700+ for the following items :
- Dinning lights (seee above pic - 3 in 1 circle flowery black lights)
- L-box lights (forgotton to take pic but we bought the square type with white frame)
- Kitchen lights (forgotton to take pic but something like a doggy bowl in RED)

Some interesting terminology that we learnt are hamburger(a kind of round and flat light similar to hamburger) and milo gong(round and long like milo container). Nearly gotton hamburger for toilet light but we decided to buy a big round lights from Ikea instead.

We nearly bought our master bedroom light too. But becos it is black color so we hesitated and decided to try our luck around balestier, jalan besar and geylang to see if we get any other alternatives in brown/beige color to match our warm neutral theme. :)

After a week of sourcing we are comtemplating of whether to the one in black circular (see below left pic) or the one in cream fabric(see below right pic). Which one do u think is nice?? ;)

Adelle second injection - 19th April 2008

On wednesday, i received a phone call from Northeast clinic to remind me to bring adelle for the second 6-in-1 injection and we decided to go on saturday after the Jan MTB gathering.

This time round my darling princess surprises us with NO TEAR! She was a brave girl even the doctor says so. :) And i also like this doctor better than the previous one cos he will talk to my darling and keep calling adelle "bei1 bi1" sounds like cunning! hahahaa.... :p So here are the latest biodata update :

Weight - 6.3 kg
Length - 63 cm

Based on the measurement, she belongs to the 75% which is similar to the 1st injection measurement. The doctor was telling me that adelle is healthy and growing well. So need not to be worried about her drop in intalk. Hmm.....QQ, my darling adelle is exactly same height and weight as TT! So coincidence... :)

Initially i also planned to visit Meggie(another dept colleague) who stayed nearby the clinic but she's out so princess adelle has yet to see prince kyden! hehehe... :p Prince kyden EDD suppose to be 20+ Jan but he popped out on 12th Jan so he is 4 days older than my princess in the end. Meggie and I have been exchanging/updating each other of our bb progress every other day.. Lets see when will little boy meet little girl! ;)

Jan 08 MTB Forum gathering on 19-04-08

4 months ago, i attended the Jan 08 MTB gathering and that time we were all with a big tummy. 4 months later, everyone is carrying a baby but this time the gathering attendees are lesser - 5 couples + 5 babies cos the meeting place is at Parkway Parade Swissbake so only the easterners attend. But it's good that smaller crowd so that we can get to talk to one another. :) Photo From Left: Audrey and Tristan, Shannonbaby and Shayne, Me and Adelle, QQ(Theresa) & Alyssa(Tong Tong)

Organiser Hannah was sick so she didn't attend. The rest of the mummies are QQ, Godsent(not in picture), Audrey and Shannonbaby + myself. It was interesting to see how my little princess mixed with other babies friends. All the kiddos don''t know how to play with each other yet. My princess only uses her hand to touch Tong Tong. Ha... While my darling looked shock when Tristan was touching her in the photos..ha! ;)

Our New House @ Kallang - Flooring is done

Something happened to our reno this week. Our living room floor tiles were cracked! Who did it?!?!?!

On monday, we hopped by in the evening cos hubby inform the sanitory guy of HDB to fix the leaking pipe and the guy say want to meet up to do a closure. When we were there, we noticed that our wooden door was removed and saw that the living room tiles were almost done. Besides that, the workers has also started to work on the kitchen cabinet base but slightly wrong spec cos we did not want the entire kitchen to have base. Anyway we informed Steven and he told the workers to remove it the next day. However, he also told hubby a bad news that some of our living room tiles cracked due to pranksters threw in a ball bearing at our floor and caused the cracks.

On thursday evening we went over again and saw our neighbour who are renovating also kena cracks on their flooring but condition worst than ours! So wonder is it the same group of pranksters?

So what is the progress for this week? The workers had completed all the tiling for all rooms, sealed up the existing entrance, touch up the new kitchen entrance with tiles and kitchen base too. We also gotton Gain City to come in on friday to fix up the aircon unit. So now what's left is window grilles and carpentary stuffs + to remove the cracked tiles with new ones.

Princess is 3 months old on 16th Apr

My little princess is 3 mths old!

16th Apr is a weekday and i m tied up @ work so didn't take leave to spend a day with princess adelle. But i will still diligently take little princess pictures at least monthly so that it can be compile into the frame(monthly pic) that we bought b4 she was born. :)

Watching princess grow every day is indeed interesting although it's tiring sometimes. But i believe it's worth it. Every weekday evening when i reached my mum place, she will greet me with a BIG smile & talking baby lingo to me like telling me what happen in the day time....so cute!! :D Then every weekday morning, i will carry her up to my mum house and before leaving the carpark, she will smile at daddy for goodbye. However, she will cry until very sad when i hand her over to my mum. Hmm... my mum say she recognise mummy liao! Well i guess so bah.... ;p
Last week adelle has bad dandruff which i think is craddle cap so i bought johnson baby oil to apply on her head this week and made her wear hat when she sleeps so that she cannot scratch her head. Ya she likes to scratch her head while dozing off. I also dunno why?!?! Thank god that within 3 days, the head was healed now.

Also lately she don't seems to like to drink milk. Her appetite drop to abt 5 feed a day and 4-5oz each time. My mum says adelle lost weight?!?!? But look at the double chin in the photo above... hmm... will only know the answer when we bring her for the next jab on 19th Apr. Cos during the jab, doctor will do the measurement for her too.

Oh ya, now her favourite is bath time! She loves to soak in the water and watching tv. :p

Our New House @ Kallang - Cabling and L-box is done

As usual, we will check out our flat once a week and there are quite a number of progress this week.

On tuesday, Steven called us and told us that the guys had done up the cabling of the entire house. So we hopped by at night to see the quality of work as he also told me that they will be working on the L-box the day after. As it was late at night and i didn't bring along my digital camera so didn't managed to take very clear pictures [left to right - cabling, false ceiling, drawing on wall]

On thursday night, we left baby adelle @ my parents house overnight as i have to go for early morning meeting. So we hopped by our new house to check out the L-box and false ceiling. So far so good.
[left to right - hollow block to seal up the existing kitchen entrance, cement, bohua - tiles, L-box view from bedroom, L-box view from main door entrance]

On saturday, hubby wanted to see the house in the day time so we went over and saw the guys were having lunch and they have completed the tiling inside bomb shelter and going to work on the living room area. I didn't go in to peek cos the whole house is filled with sand and cement now... ;)

Flipping

My darling Adelle can flip liao! Last saturday, we saw baby rebecca (3 wks older than adelle) at church and she was attempting to flip. Guess adelle also trying to learn from her and tried to flip on thursday. On friday when we bring her home, we saw her flip and trying to sleep on the side liao! So now comes the scary thing is we gotta watch out for her as we cannot leave her alone on the sofa already else she will flip and fall.... ;-)

Our New House @ Kallang - Hacking of wall

On 3rd of April, i decided to leave our little princess to stay overnight @ my mum place cos i am extremely tired and exhausted after working for 3 days and only get 5 hours sleep daily... :( Need some time to rest and to catch up my beauty sleep!!

Since little princess not with us for that night, we went out "dating"... ha!! First stop was to check out our house @ kallang cos our ID - Steven told hubby that they have started the hacking. Well, they are pretty fast in their work. Steven also helped us to get a discount from the haulage guy and we paid $850 for that($50 discount). Besides that, he also helped us to get a good price from Alumix for our wardrobe.

While on our way home, we decided to stop by Geylang to eat durians! Hehe... well we do feel a little bad that we left our darling at my parents place and we are giving ourselves a break and enjoying our durian session! :p

Back to work on 31st March

Time passed very fast especially the past 2.5 months. Finally i am back at work as i am reserving 8 days of leave to keep it for my shifting of house which will probably takes place in may/june. :-)

First day of work, I woke up @ 7am and express out the breastmilk before we left the house. After packing up, we left the house at 8+am and drove to my parents place to leave my darling there. I reach office at around 9.15am although official office hour is 8.30am and it's quite norm to see people start going to office at around 9am onwards. :-p
Few things that my colleagues noticed about me was :

1. Slim down -Yesh! ;-p But still have few more kilos to loose before i am back at my pre-pregnancy weight
2. New hairstyle - Everyone say i look nice.. hehe...

Then the next thing was i ask another dept colleague where's the "nursing room" in my office floor. ;-) This is very important else no need to express breastmilk liao. She was breastfeeding few months back and only stop when her baby was about 6-7 months. She showed me the server room in our floor and also orientate me on what to do and use in the room. Besides the server room, she told me that another room is the EVP meeting room where i can only use it when the server room is not available to us. Well, was quite weird to use the server room with a few server racks, server running and tonnes of boxes here and there but no better place to hide so just do with it bah.... ;-) Her colleague passed me the key too for my convenience.
After checking out the "nursing room", my assistant aka coverer during my absence came over to update me on all the products that are under my care. I am kinda overwhelm with the tonnes of info which i seems to have lost touch. And I am struggling to stay awake while she tried to explain to me a list of stuffs to follow up. Anyway, the entire afternoon was really tiring and challenging for me to focus.

I also managed to grab some time after lunch to hide in the "nursing room" and spent only 15mins to get 150ml. To me, that is my quota for that hour. Prior to this, i have adjusted my expressing intervals to 3 times a day - 7am, 2pm and 10pm. My supply has started to decrease eversince i reduce the expressing interval to 7-8hours. Thus, we started to supplement with 1 packet of "spare tank-EBM(Frozen breast milk) " and the last feed at midnight with formula milk since last week. So my daily supply + 1 packet of FBMis sufficient for her 7 feeds of 5oz breastmilk + 1 feed of 5oz formula milk.

When i reach my parents place in the evening, my parents were telling me that my darling seems to know that i wasn't around the whole day. She cried very badly when my dad asked her "where is mummy?" and it took them a long time to settle her down. She was very happy the minute she saw me back at my parents place and got lots of things to tell me. Oh did i mention before that my little princess likes to talk very much now? Well, she enjoy chit-chatting with us. Although her reply is her ah... oh.... arlo.... baby language but she enjoy talking and smiling at the same time. Every morning after the first feed of the day, we will leave her on the cot and proceed to do our stuff but she want us to talk to her! Aiyo.... once she sense no one in the room, she will make noise(not crying) like Eh to get our attention and when we talk to her, she will smile happily back and talk her baby language to us. I wonder what is the first official word that she will say in few months time.... ;p

Other stuffs that we observe on her were

1) when i attempt to put her on tummy, she will kiss the bed and saliva started to drip... yucks! :p
2) she definitely has grown fatter and longer!
3) she likes to hold her own pacifier and push my hand off when she managed to suck the pacifier
4) she likes to suck her mitten until it's totally wet so we decided to remove her mittens and she enjoy sucking her thumb and index finger. My mum says she love both mummy and daddy cos thumb = daddy and index finger = mummy... haha.. anyway she's already sucking her fingers when we did the 1st trimester scan. ;-p
5) she will scratch her head and eyes before falling asleep on her own
6) she will sleep throughout from 12am till 6-7am
7) she likes to talk
8) she moves about in her sleep and we found her in a slant position or kungfu pose in the morning
9) she likes to make bubbles with her saliva
