Danelle full month celebration - 19th Jul 09

We decided to hold Danelle full month celebration at our house instead of function room @ condo so that it is easier for me to breastfeed Danelle when it hit her feeding time.

I managed to capture a nice picture of Danelle and used it as the invite card. In addition, i decided to do customised photo magnets for my guests as door gift! I went online and found a home biz owner who print magnets at a reasonable price. However, her design was limited so i did up my own designs and only get her to print for me. I came up with 4 designs but only printed 3 designs in bulk for my guests to choose. Never did i know that the most popular design is the one with Adelle. ;)

Other than the door gift, i ordered the full month cake from sweetest moment. The box cover can be customised and the card inside the box can be customised too. I LOVE customisation... hahaa.... :P

During Adelle's time, we ordered from e-creative and the cake was too salty thus i will not order from e-creative for their full mth marble cake nor the buffet cos not nice. So this time i ordered Mum's Kitchen buffet cos we ordered from them during Adelle birthday and the food was quite nice and portion was quite huge too.

I also bought a bright pink romper and t-shirt for Adelle and Danelle for the celebration. Adelle t-shirt say "I am the BIG sister".

My mum and sis were the first few guests to arrive. My mum wore the anklet for baby Danelle and cut(trim) her hair and nails as well. We are glad that most of our friends and relatives can make it for the celebration and our house is constantly filled with people. A bit paiseh that some friends have no place to sit and have to hang out at my staircase. Sorry for the poor hospitality...

Princess Danelle is 1 month old on 21st July

Danelle is officially 1 mth old!

As each day passed, we noticed that her look start to change and doesn't loook like jie jie liao. Adelle is super fair while Danelle look a little tanned.

So far she is on 2-3hr interval feeding and will stay awake partying with daddy from 10pm till 2am. She started to loose hair when she was 2 weeks old and was surprised that we see her hair grow back when she hit 4 weeks old.

Danelle was slightly jaundice (9.1) when she discharged from MT A. During the 1 week old check up, her jaundice went up to 13.5 but PD say not high(below 15) so just need to suntan her daily. Thus, Danelle is tanned bah?

Also Danelle is an easy baby cos she can sleep even when Adelle jie jie is making noise around her in the day time. She also got a super big eyes that daddy call her "gor-li" aka marble! So for sure, no one say Danelle look like daddy cos daddy got a small eyes same as Adelle... ha!

Confinement

This time round, i did my own confinement and thank god that i survived the 1 mth without much difficult nor post natal blues.. :p

What i did was after i discharged from hospital, i got hubby to take 3 days leave (wed - fri) to help to train the maid to shower and change diaper for Baby Danelle. Then the maid took over the roles after hubby back to work.

I also took up confinement food package from New Baby and i ordered the 2 dishes + 1 soup for lunch and dinner cos i love soup!! The dishes are quite nice except for the rice! Ya i called to complain to the boss that the rice is super sticky like porridge! Then he say leave the rice for him to take a look the next day and also he will compensate me a free meal. However, the free meal never come! Poor customer service cos never keep to his word. :( Anyway, overall the food taste good, portion quite huge cos i can share my lunch and dinner with my maid and accomodating in terms of changing delivery location when necessary and lastly my request of "no chicken for 2 wks" due to c-sect op. But still... rice is basic right? The chef can cook nice dishes but don't understand why the rice they cook is either too hard/soft most of the time. I think i can cook the rice better than them wor...

With the help of my maid who did the household chores everyday so i just have to rest, eat and breastfeed my little sucker! :p Yes, Baby Danelle is a sucker cos she can suck every other hour during the first 2 weeks. *Faint* Well, i never experience with Adelle cos Adelle can't latch so i pump out the milk and bottle feed her. However, i think i get more milk supply this time. So i guess that is the difference bah? Also during the first 2 weeks, Adelle live in US time zone while Danelle live in SG time zone so i get peaceful sleep at night.

Since i am doing my own confinement, i dry clean for a week and then started shower when gynae remove the operation stitch. Yes, hot weather so must shower and wash hair (no herbs la cos I am lazy to boil. :p ). I told my mum that I must maintain personal hygiene else kena wound infection like last time and even if one day i get "feng shi" or here pain there pain, i will undertake the responsibility loh.

During confinement, my daily routine (except weekend) :

7-8am : Breastfeed Danelle and Adelle Jie Jie drink her milk at the same time

8.30-9am : Adelle Jie Jie say bye bye to me and go to my parents house with hubby

9-10am : Maid bring Danelle out for sun-taning cos she is slightly jaundice(9.3 when we discharge from hospital and 13.5 when we brought her to PD checkup when she is 1 wk old)

10am : Maid shower Danelle and then i breastfeed Danelle so that she can go into her ZZZ dreamland

11am : Confinement food delivered and i eat my lunch

12pm : Maid turn to eat while i clear my emails and attend to Danelle in case she 'eh-eh-eh'

12-5pm : Take afternoon naps occassionally

5pm : Confinement food delivered

5.30pm : My shower time and Maid will dry clean + change Danelle clothes

6-7.30pm : Eat my dinner then maid turn to eat

8-11pm : Watch TV while waiting for Adelle to return home!

10-11pm : Breastfeed Danelle and bring Adelle to bed

Thank God that during this period, Adelle was quite cooperative. During my stay in hospital, she stayed over at my parents house and only return when i discharged from hospital. On weekdays morning, she will guai guai follow hubby and took the car ride to and fro my parents house. Other than that, Adelle loves her mei mei. She will shower Danelle with losta muacks and use her hand to pat Danelle. However, accidents do happen. There is once that clumsy Adelle lost balance and knock her head onto Danelle head. *ouch!* Another time was she is playing with my iphone and throw it back to me but kena Danelle head instead. *ouch again!* Poor Danelle, we hope she won't grow up with bad headache due to these accidents.

As for my maid, she is able to do the simple tasks of baby care after the OJT(on-job-training) for her. But she is not very alert especially at night cos sometimes Danelle cry/make noise in the middle of the nite, she is still sleeping wor!!! Haiz.. So i have to randomly wake up to check on them since maid and Danelle are sleeping in the other room. There is also one occassion whereby i woke up in the morning and found Danelle MIA from her baby cot. I checked all the rooms and only found my maid standing at the corridor with a nake Danelle suntaning. I was furious that moment cos maid went out of the house without informing us. Cos we have told her b4 that she cannot open the door and go out on her own without informing us. Some pple say my maid has started to take initiative cos hubby instructed her to bring Danelle to suntan every morning so she did so without me reminding her. However, getting out of the house on her own without our knowledge is a No-No loh.

Princess Adelle is 18 months old on 16th July

I was still on confinement when Adelle turns 18mths. This month, Adelle was officially promoted as Jie Jie and she loves her mei mei. Always shower her mei mei with muacks and she want to carry mei mei too. Hope they will continue to love one another as they grow older. :)

Adelle continue to build up her vocab this month. She can say close, juice, wow, thank U, sorry, soup and when she want her pacifier, she will tell us "tutu". Love the way she say "tutu" cos it's like ang moh kids speaking. :P

She can managed to self feed with fork.

And she seemed to have music interest cos caught her playing piano at my friend house. :)

Adelle is 82cm now and tall enough to reach the dinning table thus she always "steal" bread at home cos she will pull the bread from table and run to the sofa to eat. Caught her in action!

Another interesting action that she know was she will put the finger on her lip and say "shh.." when we ask her where is mei mei. Cos daddy taught her to keep quiet when peeking at mei mei sleeping in the baby cot.

Happy Father Day - 2009

Last year father day we were busy shifting house. This year father day Danelle was born! So what abt nxt year? We will be celebrating Danelle 1 year old birthday! So Father day is very eventful for us. :p

Anyway this year father day we had pot luck at my parent's house cos I am due to deliver anytime so we decided to keep it simple unlike usual year where we will go restaurant for dinner. My sis bought the curry chicken golden pillow and my SIL bought pizza for the children. Hubby bought the chilli and pepper crab from the House of Seafood, fried prawn noodle and satay from Geylang. It was a simple celebration and lotsa yummy food but no pics to show here cos too busy eating! There are too much food and we can't finish so everyone ta-bao home some food.

21st Jun 2009 - Arrival of Princess Danelle

After 40 weeks of long waiting, our princess Danelle finally "surrender" herself and born on 21st June 2009 (her EDD)! Well it also happened to be Father Day of 2009! :)

Okie here are my birth story :

20th Jun

3pm to 6pm - Contractions started but I didnt bother to time it cos I'm too busy looking after Adelle

6pm - We went to parents house for father day dinner and I was too busy eating so never bothered to time contractions again. Thank God that we decided to celebrate on saturday and had pot luck @ my parents house instead cos i've been worrying that i may popped anytime over the weekend.

9pm - We reached home and felt contraction happen between 5-10 mins. I got a little worried n told hb and maid to standby

21st Jun

12am - I cannot tahan the pain liao cos I keeping getting lower backache. So i called gynae and he say wait for another 1-2 hrs then go hospital.

12.30am - I called my sis to come over my place to look after Adelle cos she was sleeping since 10pm.

1am - Sis reached and hubby changed diaper for Adelle then that was the begining of trouble! Adelle woke up and was looking for me. She refused to sleep unless i lie down nxt to her and hold her hands to sleep. She was never like that and when i attempt to sneak out, she will wake up n cry. This whole thing lasted till 3am.

3am - I cannot tahan the contractions anymore and Adelle still couldnt sleep and cry whenever i tried to sneak out. So i ended up crying with her cos it so painful until i want to cry too. Hubby came into the room and decided that all of us to go hospital instead since Adelle refuse to sleep.

3.30am - I checked in to delivery ward and took enema to clear bowels while my sis, hubby, niece and maid were outside entertaining Adelle until they knock her out at 5am.

5am - Contractions get closer and the nurse offered me gas. I asked for epi but stupid nurse say wait for gynae.

7.30am - Gynae came, check cervix abt 1.5 cm dilate and break waterbag. Green liquid came out and he told me cannot try natural as too dangerous for baby. I refused and tell him that i want to discuss with hubby. The senior nurse came in and tell me cannot try natural so better go c-sect. Midwife came in also and start telling me abt her personal story of green liquid affecting her baby brain cos she delivered her bb via natural birth. Then i get worried and decided to give in and sign the consent form reluntantly.

8am - Outside Operation theatre and the stupid automatic door got stuck! Wah really suay rite? Waited abt 10mins cos the nurse keep rekeying the password but not successful. *Faint* Then the nurse knock on the door and someone open the door finally

8.15am - They administer epi on me and then keep using the knife to poke at me to ask if i can feel sharp thing poking me. I told them yes so gynae waited for another 5-10 mins b4 the epi gets into me totally n hubby came in eventually.

8.30am - I heard baby cry and they start cleaning her up then passed to us to take our first family pic. The first thing when i saw baby Danelle was "Is that Adelle? OMG they looked so alike!!" Afterwhich hubby went with them to take bb weight n etc while i knock out liao and only awake when i reach my ward at 9+am. Can't recall what happen after hubby left. Guess i am either too tired (lack of sleep) or the epi is soooo strong that it become like GA??

9.20am - The nurses brought Danelle over to start breast feeding. Glad that she can suck well, seemed to b better than Adelle. :)

Well my birth plan of natural delivery for #2 has failed due to the green waterbag but I got no choice cos baby is distress... Haiz... :( Was quite upset abt it but if i have to risk my baby health to exchange for natural birth is never an option for me too so i rather go thr the "pain" of being cut than making my baby suffer in long term rite?

Baby #2 - 14th Check up on 19th June 2009

The whole week i was working from home cos I'm simply too tired to go to work and decided not to scare the girls in offie in case i have sudden labour pain! Ha.. where got so drama rite? :P Anyway, my boss was ok to let me work from home cos all i need is phone and laptop everyday. Best is i dont have to attend the numerous meetings and stay late in office too!! Hehee... ;)

It was quite worrying of what my gynae will tell me during this visit as it is almost my EDD liao & still no signs of popping. Anyway i went for the checkup and Dr Adrian told me that he will let me wait till next monday then decided if i need to pick a date to go c-sect. :(

During the visit, bb#2 estimated weight is 3.513 kg so still slightly smaller than jie jie so means got HOPE! Let see if bb#2 will "surrender" herself in due time. :)

Await for the day

Something that i wrote while i was at home waiting for Danelle to be born.....

As i await in anticipation and anxiety for the day to come

The lord calms me down with his peace and renew my spirit in HIM

When I start to lose hope as the time draws near

The lord assured me that HE is there and HE hears my prayers
