SMH June 09 mummies gathering @ Blurmom's house

Yes, this is the first time that i attend june mummies gathering and first time bring Danelle out on my own! :) It was held at Blurmom's house which is CCK Crescent and thank god that hubby drove me there! Hehee.... And i shared cab with a Boon Keng mummy on the way back so save a bit of $ too. :p

It was fun to see babies lying on the mattress and "boxing" one another. Well, Danelle was named as "Sleeping Beauty" by the mummies cos she slept thoroughout the hours when we were at Blurmom's house. One mummy tried to wake her up and only successfully make her awake for few minutes b4 she zZz again. ;)

Blurmom's bedroom was our nursing room and the study room was the pumping room. ;) The "nursing" room is constantly filled with mummies except the time where we took a group photo. Blurmom ordered pizza for our lunch and another mummies bought subway cookie and sweet for us. Danelle and I were there from 11am till 3+pm then we left. Had fun chit chatting with the first and second time mummies cos everyone is very opened, chatty and shared abt handling babies, breastfeeding & labour experience. Look forward to the next gathering!! :)

Myanmar Maid

Have read a lot about Myanmar maid attitude and indeed it is true that they are rude, no manners and super big eater. My current maid is a typical one cos she doesn't say sorry when she did something wrong nor say thank u when you give them something. She can eat 1.5 cups of rice everyday and don't drink water thus she keep getting bad breath and sore throat quite often. Sometimes i wonder she is pregnant or i am the one previously cos she can eat more than me and yet still so skinny!

Incidence 1 - The second day that she started working with us, we went out for late lunch. Hubby was kind to order prawn roll to share and tell her "this one to share". Guess what happen next? She took the whole plate n put infront of her. I quickly took it away and put 2 pieces into a small plate and gave her instead. Giving her benefit of doubt that she doesn't understand the word "share". But after she finished the 2 pieces, she helped herself to the 3rd pieces without asking for permission. Not that i m stingy but if she ask me for another piece, i can give extra piece than she take without asking. Eversince then, we decided to portion out the food for her so that she can't be greedy. Initially she was ok to eat leftover food from the previous day. Now she will still eat but can tell that she doesn't like to eat anymore cos she will take very little rice and eat her biscuits at nite.

Incidence 2 - One morning, I found one of my 3 pieces toiletries set was chipped and I went to ask my maid what happen. She told me that she broke it when she was cleaning the toilet some time ago. But she quietly hide it and didn't tell me until i discovered. I was quite pissed that she kept quiet and didn't even apologise when i questioned her. Hubby went to tell her that she doesn't have manner and didn't apologise when she did something wrong. Only then, she came to say sorry to me very unwillingly.

Incidence 3 - One day she confessed to me that she took some oil without telling me and put into the rice to cook. I was like how and what you are trying to cook rice with oil?!? Since this is a trivial matter, i didn't pursue it further. Anyway she's a weirdo cos she put bread into water and soak it before eating it. Really disguisting.

Incidence 4 - Few days ago, she passed me a letter and asked me to post for her. So i paid and post for her. The next day then she asked me how much. Since it is only $0.60, so i told her it's ok and i will pay for it. She didn't even say thank u and just went off to her bedroom! So rude.

Incidence 5 - Baby Danelle is sleeping the same room with my maid. Every nite around 11pm to 2am, Danelle will occassionally eh-eh-eh and u know what? I am always on "alert" mode so I quickly run over from my bedrom to check out Danelle and saw that fellow still sleeping like a pig! This happened numerous times until hubby was pissed off with her and wake up her to tell her off. But it doesn't work cos even after hubby scolding, she still sleep like a pig these few nites. How can we sleep in peace at nite if she continue to be like that?

Incidence 6 - Yesterday, i told her to change and wash my sofa cover. She happily hang up the cover and only then tell me that she throw the white and red cover into washing machine and the white cover become pink!!! Wa lau.. i really can't stand it anymore. This isn't the first time that she wash the sofa cover and she anyhow throw all into washing machine to wash. I have taught her to sort out the white vs colored ones but yet she can still make this kind of mistake. There is another separate occassion where she throw a black top among the pool of white clothes in the washing machine but was caught by me! She only apologize when she see me black face n damn pissed off with her yesterday. Isn't saying sorry an automatic word when you did something wrong and not wait until the other party is pissed off then you open the 'golden mouth'?

Initially when she came, everything was still ok and bearable. Now 4+months, all the pattens come out already. Can't tolerate her anymore and time to change maid liao.... Wish me luck in finding a better one.

Our fifth year dating anniversary - 7th Aug 2009

How times flies. Hubby & I have known each other for 5 years! :)

This year I am on maternity leave and hubby happened to be able to knock off early due to H1N1 virus so we went for early evening dinner with our 3 lights bulb - Adelle, Danelle and maid!

On our dating anniversary, hubby bought me a bouquet of flower which is similar to the one i received during my birthday. Well, the only difference is the bear size has increased. Haaa... Hubby say the bigger bear will go to Adelle while Danelle will inherit the smaller bear that i received during my birthday loh.. Hmm... ;)

We went to Prive (Marina at Keppel Bay) and walked around the marina to take pictures. We wanted to go for the restaurant but was rejected becos they don't allow babies. Thus, we went for the bakery cafe instead. We ordered bolognaise spaghetti for Adelle and she managed to finished half of the plate. *Well done, darling* We also ordered cajun wedges, beef pot pie, chicken milanese for our dinner. As for Danelle dinner, i brought her to the toilet to breastfeed her cos no nursing room there. :( Generally the food is quite tasty and cosy ambience too!

My hubby birthday - 28th July

A simple celebration this year for hubby cos he gotta work on his birthday so we celebrated his birthday in advance on saturday by having a dinner @ Outback Steakhouse. It was also our first attempt to bring both Danelle and Adelle out to shopping mall.

In order to have a peaceful meal, we let Danelle had her milk and dinner for the maid b4 we left the house. We ordered Ribs and Sirloin steak for our main course and finished off the dinner with a sinful dessert - Choco Thunder *YUM YUM*. :P~~

Before dinner, we walked around Millenia walk and bought Sin chocolate for hubby as his birthday gift cos i am on maternity leave and didn't have time to buy present for him so instant present for him instead. :)

Adelle enjoyed the dinner with us cos she gets plastic spoon, fork and plate to explore self feeding. She did well by using fork to pick up the bread pieces.

When we are about to finish the dinner, Danelle started to make noise cos it's her milky time! Oh no.. so we quickly settle the bill and we head towards suntec. Adelle was very happy cos she has been "locked" at home since i gave birth and finally she get to go gai! I brought Danelle to suntec nursing room and after her milk, i went to look for hubby and Adelle at carrefour. Notti Adelle is throwing tantrums there!! So we left the place and hubby told Adelle that no more outing for her liao... :(

Hubby also celebrated his birthday with our cell group friends together with Julia cos they are the july babies.

And on hubby actual birthday, i went to United SQ and bought him a swiss bake chocolate fudge cake. Very sinful and chocolatey... :P Wishing hubby a blessed birthday and we love you deep deep from Me, Adelle and Danelle.

Danelle full month celebration - 19th Jul 09

We decided to hold Danelle full month celebration at our house instead of function room @ condo so that it is easier for me to breastfeed Danelle when it hit her feeding time.

I managed to capture a nice picture of Danelle and used it as the invite card. In addition, i decided to do customised photo magnets for my guests as door gift! I went online and found a home biz owner who print magnets at a reasonable price. However, her design was limited so i did up my own designs and only get her to print for me. I came up with 4 designs but only printed 3 designs in bulk for my guests to choose. Never did i know that the most popular design is the one with Adelle. ;)

Other than the door gift, i ordered the full month cake from sweetest moment. The box cover can be customised and the card inside the box can be customised too. I LOVE customisation... hahaa.... :P

During Adelle's time, we ordered from e-creative and the cake was too salty thus i will not order from e-creative for their full mth marble cake nor the buffet cos not nice. So this time i ordered Mum's Kitchen buffet cos we ordered from them during Adelle birthday and the food was quite nice and portion was quite huge too.

I also bought a bright pink romper and t-shirt for Adelle and Danelle for the celebration. Adelle t-shirt say "I am the BIG sister".

My mum and sis were the first few guests to arrive. My mum wore the anklet for baby Danelle and cut(trim) her hair and nails as well. We are glad that most of our friends and relatives can make it for the celebration and our house is constantly filled with people. A bit paiseh that some friends have no place to sit and have to hang out at my staircase. Sorry for the poor hospitality...

Princess Danelle is 1 month old on 21st July

Danelle is officially 1 mth old!

As each day passed, we noticed that her look start to change and doesn't loook like jie jie liao. Adelle is super fair while Danelle look a little tanned.

So far she is on 2-3hr interval feeding and will stay awake partying with daddy from 10pm till 2am. She started to loose hair when she was 2 weeks old and was surprised that we see her hair grow back when she hit 4 weeks old.

Danelle was slightly jaundice (9.1) when she discharged from MT A. During the 1 week old check up, her jaundice went up to 13.5 but PD say not high(below 15) so just need to suntan her daily. Thus, Danelle is tanned bah?

Also Danelle is an easy baby cos she can sleep even when Adelle jie jie is making noise around her in the day time. She also got a super big eyes that daddy call her "gor-li" aka marble! So for sure, no one say Danelle look like daddy cos daddy got a small eyes same as Adelle... ha!

Confinement

This time round, i did my own confinement and thank god that i survived the 1 mth without much difficult nor post natal blues.. :p

What i did was after i discharged from hospital, i got hubby to take 3 days leave (wed - fri) to help to train the maid to shower and change diaper for Baby Danelle. Then the maid took over the roles after hubby back to work.

I also took up confinement food package from New Baby and i ordered the 2 dishes + 1 soup for lunch and dinner cos i love soup!! The dishes are quite nice except for the rice! Ya i called to complain to the boss that the rice is super sticky like porridge! Then he say leave the rice for him to take a look the next day and also he will compensate me a free meal. However, the free meal never come! Poor customer service cos never keep to his word. :( Anyway, overall the food taste good, portion quite huge cos i can share my lunch and dinner with my maid and accomodating in terms of changing delivery location when necessary and lastly my request of "no chicken for 2 wks" due to c-sect op. But still... rice is basic right? The chef can cook nice dishes but don't understand why the rice they cook is either too hard/soft most of the time. I think i can cook the rice better than them wor...

With the help of my maid who did the household chores everyday so i just have to rest, eat and breastfeed my little sucker! :p Yes, Baby Danelle is a sucker cos she can suck every other hour during the first 2 weeks. *Faint* Well, i never experience with Adelle cos Adelle can't latch so i pump out the milk and bottle feed her. However, i think i get more milk supply this time. So i guess that is the difference bah? Also during the first 2 weeks, Adelle live in US time zone while Danelle live in SG time zone so i get peaceful sleep at night.

Since i am doing my own confinement, i dry clean for a week and then started shower when gynae remove the operation stitch. Yes, hot weather so must shower and wash hair (no herbs la cos I am lazy to boil. :p ). I told my mum that I must maintain personal hygiene else kena wound infection like last time and even if one day i get "feng shi" or here pain there pain, i will undertake the responsibility loh.

During confinement, my daily routine (except weekend) :

7-8am : Breastfeed Danelle and Adelle Jie Jie drink her milk at the same time

8.30-9am : Adelle Jie Jie say bye bye to me and go to my parents house with hubby

9-10am : Maid bring Danelle out for sun-taning cos she is slightly jaundice(9.3 when we discharge from hospital and 13.5 when we brought her to PD checkup when she is 1 wk old)

10am : Maid shower Danelle and then i breastfeed Danelle so that she can go into her ZZZ dreamland

11am : Confinement food delivered and i eat my lunch

12pm : Maid turn to eat while i clear my emails and attend to Danelle in case she 'eh-eh-eh'

12-5pm : Take afternoon naps occassionally

5pm : Confinement food delivered

5.30pm : My shower time and Maid will dry clean + change Danelle clothes

6-7.30pm : Eat my dinner then maid turn to eat

8-11pm : Watch TV while waiting for Adelle to return home!

10-11pm : Breastfeed Danelle and bring Adelle to bed

Thank God that during this period, Adelle was quite cooperative. During my stay in hospital, she stayed over at my parents house and only return when i discharged from hospital. On weekdays morning, she will guai guai follow hubby and took the car ride to and fro my parents house. Other than that, Adelle loves her mei mei. She will shower Danelle with losta muacks and use her hand to pat Danelle. However, accidents do happen. There is once that clumsy Adelle lost balance and knock her head onto Danelle head. *ouch!* Another time was she is playing with my iphone and throw it back to me but kena Danelle head instead. *ouch again!* Poor Danelle, we hope she won't grow up with bad headache due to these accidents.

As for my maid, she is able to do the simple tasks of baby care after the OJT(on-job-training) for her. But she is not very alert especially at night cos sometimes Danelle cry/make noise in the middle of the nite, she is still sleeping wor!!! Haiz.. So i have to randomly wake up to check on them since maid and Danelle are sleeping in the other room. There is also one occassion whereby i woke up in the morning and found Danelle MIA from her baby cot. I checked all the rooms and only found my maid standing at the corridor with a nake Danelle suntaning. I was furious that moment cos maid went out of the house without informing us. Cos we have told her b4 that she cannot open the door and go out on her own without informing us. Some pple say my maid has started to take initiative cos hubby instructed her to bring Danelle to suntan every morning so she did so without me reminding her. However, getting out of the house on her own without our knowledge is a No-No loh.

Princess Adelle is 18 months old on 16th July

I was still on confinement when Adelle turns 18mths. This month, Adelle was officially promoted as Jie Jie and she loves her mei mei. Always shower her mei mei with muacks and she want to carry mei mei too. Hope they will continue to love one another as they grow older. :)

Adelle continue to build up her vocab this month. She can say close, juice, wow, thank U, sorry, soup and when she want her pacifier, she will tell us "tutu". Love the way she say "tutu" cos it's like ang moh kids speaking. :P

She can managed to self feed with fork.

And she seemed to have music interest cos caught her playing piano at my friend house. :)

Adelle is 82cm now and tall enough to reach the dinning table thus she always "steal" bread at home cos she will pull the bread from table and run to the sofa to eat. Caught her in action!

Another interesting action that she know was she will put the finger on her lip and say "shh.." when we ask her where is mei mei. Cos daddy taught her to keep quiet when peeking at mei mei sleeping in the baby cot.
