Baby #2 - 7th Check up on 14 Mar 2009

Another month has passed and we are going through the usual routine for the monthly check up. Well, as it is baby #2, we aren't excited like last time. Maybe it's also becos we are still very "busy" with Adelle and haven't get into excitement for baby #2?!?
Anyway, same as the last check up, Adelle always make noise the minute we walked into the clinic. Guess what happen this time? Dr Adrian told Adelle that he is not going to "pak-zang". It means he is not going to inject Adelle but it's useless cos Adelle doesn't like to step into the room and not becos of the injection wor.. We always want to let her see mei mei in movement via the ultra sound machine but Adelle doesnt like leh. Guess must be jealousy?!?!? :P

BB#2 is now 26wks and weighing 990g while I have put on close to 10kg. Think i gotta go on diet b4 BB#2 become another giant bb again!! *Stressed* Comparing to the size of Adelle, mei mei is still relatively smaller cos Adelle @ 25+ weeks, already 1.1kg!

Word of the day - THROW

Yesterday morning, Adelle woke up and keep saying the word "THROW" many times. Everything that she hold, she will say "THROW". So i tot is it becos we been saying "Throw" when we teach her to throw the ball to us? :P

Yesterday night when we were at my parents' house, my aunty told me that Adelle keep telling her the word "THROW". So we conclude that this is one of her vocabs in her limited dictionary. ;)

What other words in her limited dictionary? Here are the list :
- Credit Card (Caught her saying credit card when she flip open my wallet one day, you believe?)
- Bounce Bounce Bounce (Been reading a Pooh story book to her where there is a sentence "Tigger say Bounce Bounce Bounce. ")
- Cupboard (We are at gynae clinic and leaning against cupboard. Adelle pointed and say cupboard, you believe?)
- Pooh Pooh Bear (Her favourite friend)

Detail scan @ 21st week - 7th Feb

7th Feb is the day that we will know whether baby #2 is boy or girl. :)

1 out of 5 colleagues guessed baby #2 is a boy. Most of my family members guessed is a boy too becos of the shape. For this pregnancy, my tummy is very sharp, pointed and smaller. :P Even strangers including taxi driver uncle tell me that he is 99% sure is a boy. So is it boy or girl??

Well the result was....... GIRL! Most of them can't believe and still puzzled if the sonographer did capture the correct gender?

On the day of detail scan, we were late cos couldn't find parking lot. Surprisingly, we were allocated to a room whereby the machine is soooo much clearer this time. I guess they may have changed new machine lately and the sonographer told me that machine is her favourite too! :) When she was checking on baby #2, she told me everything looks good while Adelle as usual making noise inside the room. But before hubby took Adelle out, the sonographer told us that this one is a girl too.

After hubby brought Adelle out, it was peace inside the room. So i ask the sonographer is she sure? Well, she say "Yes" and then she was looking thr the pictures that she had captured and realized that she has left out the gender so she rescan again. Well, i tot maybe she will tell me that she scanned wrongly but no wor, she show me this time that there are 3 lines. Thus, it is a fact and truth that baby #2 is girl! :P

Anyway, a little puzzled cos b4 i found out that i was pregnant, i dreamt that i brought a boy to swim and a boy name flashes on my mind too. So i tot it's a boy cos during Adelle's time, i dreamt of a girl and turn up to be a girl mah..... Maybe only God know why this time the dream is different from reality bah?

The estimated weight based of baby #2 on the measurements was 344gram for 21 weeks. Now we know the gender, it's time to crack our brain to think of a girl name.... :)

Kallang Heights Welcome Party

Few weeks back my neighbour passed us a card that HDB guy left with her as we are not at home. The card was a welcome party for our estate - Kallang Heights on 21st Feb. Complimentary from HDB... Nice rite?? Got free food, drinks, ice cream, pop corn, games stall and souvenir too! :)

The party started at 5.30pm but we only back at home around 7pm and saw our neighbours happily collected their dinner packets liao. So we quickly went up to put our stuff and went down to join the queues... :P

The dinner pack queue was rather long so i brought Adelle to see what contest we can participate while hubby joined the queue. There is a "Guess the number of ping pong balls inside a fish tank" contest and we are given choices of 90, 100 or 110. I was thinking either 100 or 110 but left the place without filling up the form and looked for Hubby at dinner pack queue. Half way to the dinner pack area, hubby saw us and i told him abt the contest so we went back to try our luck!
Thank God we are a few seconds faster cos they are about to end the contest when we head back to the area. Hubby suggested to put for 100 and i hesitated. Then the staff there say put 100 lah... So i filled up the form and Adelle drop it into the lucky draw box. :D We are told that they will do the draw in abt 30mins later so hubby went up to put the dinner packs while i hang around at the games stall and collected the popcorn to share with Adelle!! Well, surprisingly Adelle likes the popcorn leh.... *munch munch*... :)

When hubby is back again, it's abt time that they are announcing the contest results. We heard the answer is 100 and quickly walk over to the stage area to see if we are the lucky winner. The emcee told us that there is 3 prizes and the 3rd prize went to someone who is not around and they will deliver to the person.. nice service rite? Then the 2nd prize was someone who scribble his/her contact details and the organiser void it since they can't figure out the name and other stuffs. So they redraw and hubby say maybe we are the next winner.

Well, true enough.... I heard "Debbie Ng" was called!! Yippeee!!! Surprise surprise and i carry Adelle up to the stage and collected the prize from our MP - Dr Lee Boon Yang. Very nice chap cause he asking me if i need help to carry the prize down the stage but i told him it's ok! :D I was so kam cheong that evening and forget to ask hubby to take pictures of me on stage with the MP... hahahaa.... So we took picture after i get off from the stage. :P

We also tried our luck to play the games like golf, basketball, bowling and soccer. Only won 1 prizes from the basketball section cos the rest are so difficult loh... Anyway, it was fun and we head back to our house after we completed all the games and collected the souvenir which is a metal cup.

Overall it was a nice party with free food(2 "bento" set of asian food), drink (2 btl of mineral water), games and of cos prizes to win!! Heheee... :D

Princess is 13 months old on 16th Feb

Princess Adelle is getting smarter as she grows older! ;)

Here are the list of her TOP favourites :
- Favourite game is to play hide and seek
- Favourite TV programmes are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and My friends Tigger & Pooh
- Favourite word she say is "THERE" or "WHERE"

Other than her favourite stuffs, she also know
- When i say "teeth" and "ear" (in english and mandarin), she will point to the teeth or ear
- When i say "wave wave or bye bye", she will wave her hand and on good mood days, she will give a good-bye kiss
- When i say "baby", she will bang her head or tap her hand on my tummy
- When i say "give tu-tu", she will give me her pacifier

Everyday I will tell her today is monday/tuesday/wednesday/thursday/friday/saturday/sunday. However, the only one that she can say or prefer is FRIDAY! Why? Probably the next day saturday, she gets to see her #1 favourite TV programme or she knows mummy and daddy not working so can bring her go gai-gai... :P
The only thing that i am waiting is when she will start to walk!

What is going on?

Torturing Nites

Since beginning of this year, Adelle has been waking up several times every nite from 12 to 7am. In good days, she woke up 5 times else 10 times also have. :( When she woke up, she will make some noise to get my attention. I will have to start looking for her pacific in pitch darkness and then she doze ooff again. Until around 2-3am, she will sit up and take her booster, wanting me to carry her out from her cot. So i have no choice but to carry her out loh. Within seconds, she will insist to roll over and want to sleep in the middle of our bed! Dunno is it her "scheming" plot to trick me to let her co-sleep with us? ;)

As Adelle kept interrupting my sleep, i started to get headache during day time. What makes it worst was the nites of leg cramp also started at the same time! Thank God so far i only experience once a week as compared to my previous pregnancy, leg cramp can be 2-3 times a week. :( Haiz... why all happened now??

Last nite was the worst nitemare for us. Adelle woke up many times, crying/screaming, eyes wide open with a look of fear and panic each time she's awake!!! She is sweating and feel kinda warm from her body. She also refused to be put down on the bed to sleep and wanting me to carry her. I think I am going to be panda soon. Each time, she's awake and doze off at my arms, i can feel that she is shaking like being frightened by "something". Don't ask me what is the something cos i also dunno.... :( I wished she can tell me what exactly happen loh... Could it be nitemare or night terror ?

Valentine Day

This year Valentine Day is our fourth dating anniverary. So what surprise do i get this time? :P

Well, hubby left the house to buy breakfast in the morning. Shortly after he left, the doorbell rang and i saw a delivery guy holding a box of flowers with chocolates in it. I opened up the card and it say "Love is within the box". Thank U dear dear! *MUACKS* :)
My darling Adelle was very amazed with the box of flowers and chocolate so i quickly put on a table to avoid her having "free-flow" of chocolates. To make her happy, i pull out 1 chocolate (wrapped in plastic and stick that look like lollipop) and give to her. I tot she will only hold for fun but minutes later, i saw she attempt to bite the plastic and can see chocolate is leaking to the plastic covering. Yucks! So i quickly took away and place it back into the box. ;)

In the evening after church service, hubby suggested to go Singapore Flyer since we never been there before. We reache there around 6.45pm and hopping to catch sunset view. It was long queue for the ride and i guess it's becos of valentine day cos saw some couples holding bouquet of flowers. :) It also happened to be the day of the Singapore 2009 promotion ie first 2009 customers get free ride but by the time we reach, all free tickets were snapped up and only get discounted price. Better than nothing rite..

By the time we reach the entrance, it was pitch dark already. Didn't managed to catch any sunset view... :( Nevertheless, we enjoyed the ride and taking pictures with Adelle.

After the ride, we tried to look for food but most restaurants have to wait cos long queue. We were super hungry so we went to Marina SQ and decided to settle with Carls Junior. Bump into a church friend and his wife and they were going to Flyer to help their friend to propose to the girlfriend on valentine day. So sweet rite... :)

Well, this year no romantic dinner for us and don't think our dinner can ever be romantic with monster Adelle around cos she will make noise and ask for food! :P So guess i have to wait for another 10 years to have a candle light dinner with hubby loh.... :(

My observation of this year valentine day was there is budget cut and recession/economic crisis. :P Why i say this? Reason being i saw very few ladies holding flowers this yr and those who have flower, it was a small bouquet like either a single or 3 stalk of roses. The biggest bouquet i saw at the Flyer was a bouquet of lilies and well, it always reminded me and hubby of the first bouquet that he bought for me. Yes, the "punishment" flower cos it super heavy loh. Hubby was laughing at the guy and say he is now smarter. Ordered a heavy box of flower and delivered to our house so don't have to carry here & there! :P

Our 2nd wedding anniversary photo

I received phone call few days back that the complimentary anniversary photos are ready for collection. We are looking forward to it so quickly hopped by on weekend to collect from Sophia.

I love the pics of my princess Adelle. So cute right? :D Was telling hubby that Adelle is "cross-breed" ie above the nose level, she look like hubby and below the nose, she look like me. :P Hmm... wondering if baby #2 will be the opposite of Adelle?? We shall know in due time.

Here are Adelle's pics!

Baby #2 - 6th Check up on 14 Feb 2009

Our checkup these days are "chop-chop" one cos Adelle always make lotsa noise in Dr Adrian clinic. So the usual statement will be like this :

Dr A : "Hi Debbie, how are you? Everything ok?
Me : "Yes"
* Adelle will start to make noise or cry
Dr A: "Ok come and i take a look
* Adelle noise/cry even louder
Dr A: "Baby looks healthy and normal"
Dr A: "Ok, see you in 1 months time"

Thats it. Less than 10 mins, we are out of the room. Adelle will stop making noise the minutes we step out. Wonder why?

Anyway as it was a quick one, Dr Adrian forgotton to measure baby weight and i also didn't notice until i left the clinic. Haiz.... all thanks to Adelle and her eh-eh-eh.... :(

A Husband Voice - Simple words but Great inspiration

This week, I am into depression and I asked God what is the fundamental role of a husband and father? Is it to work 24 hrs for your job, pay the bills then your job/role is considered done?

I happened to read this blog (http://ahusband.blogspot.com) by chance on how the husband and his wife went through their journey together. This blog is not abt something that the wife is dying or some terminal diseases lah. But what impresses me was it is a very simple thing that the husband know how to appreciate the wife and no need to wait until one day the wife get some terminal illnesses or leaving him then start to treasure of the things he has in life.

Have extracted 3 threads that husband should read but of cos there are more than 3 that husband shd read
- http://ahusband.blogspot.com/2008/09/journey.html
- http://ahusband.blogspot.com/2008/08/harder.html
- http://ahusband.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Well, i can only say the wife is very fortunate to have this man who is a understanding and helpful husband who support and be with the wife throughout the journey. If only husbands including mine could spend some time study and understand how woman feels especially during our pregnancy days (doesn't matter if it is 1st or Xth pregnancy) and even on non-pregnancy days, the world will be a better place. Do u agree?
