Adelle 2nd CNY

This year is Adelle 2nd CNY and of cos the difference is she seemed to enjoy more than last year. Why?

1. She gets to eat! Yes, uncles and aunties keep wanting to feed her food!

2. She gets to drink! She simply loves taking packet drink and self service to the straw then attempt to drink.

3. She gets to shop @ chinatown! Ha.. we brought her to squeeze with crowd @ the chinatown market. :P

The only thing that she has yet to appreciate is to receive angbaos. She will take and throw it on the floor despite a few nites of training that i have done with her but it doesn't seemed to work still. Unless there is cute picture like Hello Kitty, Cow, etc then she will hold on to it and look at the pic.

First Day - 26th Jan

Adelle wore a cheong sam bought by my sis and everyone say NICE! In the morning, we brought her to maternal grandparents house and my brother got a lion dance troupe to perform at my parents house at 9am. To our surprise, Adelle doesn't seem scared of lion dance nor the loud sound at all. She enjoyed watching the lion dance. Brave girl! After the lion dance, we went to do the usual house visitings at my relatives place. We only went back home around 4-5pm and Adelle managed to take a nap b4 hubby siblings came over in the night time and then Adelle was busy playing catching with her elder cousins. In case u are wondering how they play catching? Well, Airrence's nephew running around while Adelle busy crawling after him!

Second Day - 27th Jan

Adelle wore a bugs bunny dress that i bought long time ago. :P Very pinky!! We went over to my parent's place for lunch and over there, Adelle saw her "competitor". My cousin brought her daughter(3 mths younger than Adelle) and my dad carried the girl. Immediately, Adelle was angry and making noise + refuse to share toy/food and play with the girl. Haiz... jealousy girl..... : Thus, all my relatives were worried what will happen when #2 came out? Hopefully they will learn to love and share with one another loh. Keeping my fingers crossed and pray hard! At nite, we went over to Airrence's friends house and left at around 11+pm. Adelle was very tired cos she get to take any proper nap thoroughout the day. Poor baby. I think she dislike CNY cos her sleeping schedule is all upside down! :P

Sixth Day - 31st Jan

Airrence sister organised a BBQ cum birthday celebration for her daughter @ some park in Bishan. We went over in the morning to collect stingray and prawns from my dad and tot of depositing the stuff at his sis place but kenna rejected. As we never buy seafood during our grocery shopping thus our car never have fishy smells until then.. :( Anyway, we reached the park at 5pm and they have started to bbq. Food variety is not a lot and all are small eaters so there are a lot of food left. We had yu-sheng and then waited quite long for the birthday girl to come down to cut the cake. We are supposed to go for Jack & Suping house warming that same day and only reached their place around 8.30-9pm. Then we had another round of yu-sheng but i didn't get to eat also cos it's raw and preggy cannot take raw food mah... so sad! :( Last yr didn't eat too cos confinement and this year also... *sob sob*....

Seventh Day - 1st Feb

My secondary school friends came over to my house at 1.45pm for CNY gathering this year. We have to rush home after the little neurotree class end at 1pm and on the way buy snacks and food for the guests cos i don't have time to cook. Thank God that the class coordinator didn't delay me cos she didn't pressure me to sign up for the classes after our trial classes ended that day. So far i like the english and chinese class cos i can understand but not the jap class plus Adelle seemed very distracted and not attentive after the first class. :P Meggie and I agreed that we will sign them up when they are 2 yrs old and not when they can't even walk and can only understand 30% of what's being taught.

Back to the gathering, It's good to catch up with old friends once in a blue moon especially now everyone has a family. Also very happy to know that my friend Feng'e is getting married this year Oct! Congratulations to her & her hubby-to-be. :) After my friends left, we went for our 2nd anniversary photo shoot session at 6pm cos we missed it during Dec. It was abt 30mins and glad that the photgrapher managed to capture some nice shots for Adelle and a nice family pic to keep. Added bonus was we get 3 pieces of photo this time cos our friend just signed up Sophia a few days ago with my coordinator and she say give us 1 extra piece to thank us for recommending friends to them! :D

After photo session, we went over to the River Angbao and it was sooooo boring. Nothing interesting to see and Adelle was making so much noise and refuse to sit in her stroller!! :( Hubby carried her and she cried all the way from there to the carpark.. Haiz...

Adelle finally meet Kyden

Finally after 1 year, Adelle get to meet Kyden at Little neurotree class on 18th Jan. :)

Meggie and I signed up for 3 trial class @ Dhoby Ghaut cos they are having promotion. The first session was Chinese class and we are very impressed with our little ones' IQ level. During the session, Adelle was able to spot the picture and object that was shown to her to test her memory skill. Other stuffs are picking up small fishes and putting into a container which Adelle can also do. However, differentiating colors is something that Adelle, Kyden and the other babies couldn't handle at this stage.

After the lesson, Adelle and Kyden are playing at the tent and trying to take out the balls. We managed to snap a picture of them together finally! ;)

Since we haven't explore this old shopping mall for a long time, we decided to try out the japanese food court recommended by Chloe, the little neurotree adminstrator. The prices of the food are rather cheap and portion is quite huge too. Hubby ordered ramen and i ordered tonkatsu curry rice. Somehow Adelle refuse to drink her bottle of milk and thus, she was given the noodle and rice to eat.

When we reached home, i vomited all the curry rice and root beer that i had for lunch. It was a yucky feeling and made me drowsy. Shortly after, hubby received a phone call and left the house while Adelle woke up from her nap. I carried her out from the cot and within minutes, she started to vomit too. The noodle and rice were out! Yucks! But the worst is yet to happen.

After the scoop of noodle and rice, she doze off as i was carrying her. Both of us fell asleep and 30 minutes later, i woke up and tot of putting her onto the sofa to sleep. Who knows, she woke up and puke again! Thank God i managed to put my hand under her mouth and caught hold of the noodle and rice again. Eeeee..... :( After puking, Adelle doze off again. This puking and sleeping continues for another 30 minutes later until all the noodle and rice are out.

Then we tot of feeding her water and she drink it. But within minutes, Adelle started to puke out the water also. So scary, all in all she puke 9 times! The puking started at 3pm and last till 9pm. Before we left the house for dinner, i gave her some milk to fill her stomach. However, before we left the house, she puke out the milk as well. Haiz....

We went to see the GP and he told us that either food poisioning or some kind of virus since i got it too. Adelle was given some medicine to take b4 food and she took that b4 i gave her the pork porridge. Thank God she was fine and vomiting stopped after the medication but I vomited out all the porridge. So the whole day i didn't have any food at all...

Well story didn't end here cos after the vomit incidence was over, diarrhoea started for both of us. For Adelle, it lasted for 1 week and a few days for myself. My poor baby cos she lost close to 1 kg due to the vomiting and diarrhoea... :(

Adelle is officially 1 on 16th Jan 2009

Finally Adelle promoted from baby to toddler on 16th Jan 2009! On this special day, it was the first time that i try to cook mee sua for her to eat since it's her birthday. Unfortunately there is no egg at home so only cooked mee sua with some carrot and spinach to go with it. To my surprise, Adelle loves eating mee sua! :)

I also let Adelle wear the new clothes that she received from Julia & Chee Wee during her birthday. It's colorful and cute especially there is a pooh bear on the clothes which is Adelle "idol"!

We took leave that day and brought her to Fidgets to play! Before heading to Turf City, i went to Bukit Batok to collect the cheque for winning the PetPet lucky draw... Hehee... :)

Adelle enjoyed herself very much at Fidget. We were there for 2 hrs and she is very busy exploring and crawling here and there. We also saw a girl @ Fidget who was borned on the same month same date and same year as Adelle. However, she doesn't like to play with other children so whenever Adelle goes near her, she will walk away. ;)

In the late evening, we celebrated Adelle birthday again with cell group friends cos the rest of the Jan birthday boys and girls didn't turn up except Adelle wor.... :P

Here are Adelle's 1 year old milestone

• She is able to crawl on 4
• She is able to pull herself up and stand
• She can climb up the sofa on her own
• When we say 5, she will point to the number 5 outside my parents unit
• She knows where is the clock and fan in the house
• She knows how to do "gong-xi gong-xi"
• She knows where is nose and eyes
• She knows what is buttons and will point to the buttons on her clothes
• She knows where is belly button and will pull her clothes to find her belly button
  
  

Baby #2 - 5th Check up on 16th Jan 2009

Few days ago, I received a phone call from gynae clinic that Dr Adrian is not free on saturday so they requested me to go for the friday appt instead. And we went on friday since we took leave that day. It was Adelle jie jie birthday and we brought her out to celebrate!

It was a friday evening but super long queue. We reached there around 6.30pm but only get to see gynae at 7.45pm! Anyway, we know it will be a long wait so we went to Ajisen for our dinner. While waiting for our food to be served, i received phone call from the clinic that it's my turn liao!! Oh no, we quickly finished our food and rushed down to the clinic.

BB#2 estimated weight is 205g at Wk 17 and the FL is 2.4cm. Seemed like gynae machine has changed cos when i looked back Adelle's record, i can only find her FL is 2.6cm at Wk 17 but no estimated weight. But again, gynae can't confirm the gender and asked us to wait till our detail scan.... :)

13/12/08 - NT scan

I visited gynae on 29th Nov and was told that it's about time to do the NT scan @ TMC. There isn't any dates left so gynae clinic staff told me to try my luck to go early in the morning on saturday to queue like the previous time. When i heard the news, i really hate it cos it reminds me of the torturing 3 hours of waiting and cannot go toilet cos need to have full bladder. However, few days before the schedule date, i received phone call from TMC that they have a slot @ 11.30am for me! Yippee... Then i recall could it be the feedback form that i sent in the previous time to complain abt their service so this time they take note and allocate a slot for me? :P Anyway it doesn't matter as long as i don't have to wait cos not only i don't have patience, same goes for Adelle.

On 13th Dec, we brought Adelle along cos it's weekend. No one to babysit her. When i went into the room, the sonographer tell me that baby #2 not in a good position so sent me to wait outside. We walked around for 20 mins before going in again. Well, this time round baby # 2 is behaving well but my baby #1 throw tantrums wor! Adelle is making so much noise inside the room and crying! Aiyo.... it is so disturbing. :( The sonographer quickly took some measurements and told us that baby #2 is ok!

Within the same week, gynae clinic called & told me that they have received the report & everything is normal. Here are the results :

Weili & Sihui Wedding - 11th Jan 2009

We brought Adelle to attend Weili and Sihui wedding which was held at Shangri-la Hotel. On the same day, it was Mah Bow Tan's son wedding as well and the ballroom was just next to the one we are attending. Their guests reached at 6pm and started to queue up cos they need to go through the security gantry like the ones we saw at airport. Many policemen on duty and standing outside the ballroom as well. It was a real gala dinner over there cos all the invited guests are uncles and aunties dressed in cheong sam, suit and cocktail dresses.

Half way during the dinner, it was time to change my princess diaper so i was trying to find the diaper changing room. However, I can't find in the toilet outside the ballroom. The toilet aunty told me that there is one but i need to get into the other ballroom in order to get to the diaper changing room. I have no choice and I walked over to the ballroom. The police questioned me what i want and I told him i need to change diaper but i need to get into the ballroom toilet to use it. That policeman hesitated and went to ask 5 policemen before sending out the hotel staff to tell me to go to the main reception hall to use the diaper changing room. Wah lau... I was damn pissed off with the hotel staff and demand him to show me the place. He walked all the way to the toilet with me and i can't be bothered to thank him cos i am really pissed off with the hotel and those policemen. They think i am bomber and trying to harm them??.. *Angry*

When the hotel staff go around the table to gather feedback, we complaint abt the fish being tough, service was bad, the waitress broke several wine glass during cocktail time and my diaper changing experience. :( I will not recommend Shangri-la hotel cos their service sucks! Also another incident was the banquet staff brought a bowl of sharkfin to show 3 tables and was standing next to me to show me the soup. Guess what happen? My princess happily dip her hand into the soup loh.... wah piang... basic knowledge like staying away from the kid they also dunno?!?!? Hopeless....

Anyway the couple spent quite a fair bit for their wedding cos i heard the pink feathers are quite costly and they also got 2 singer and band to perform on stage.

Hereby wishing Weili and Sihui a blissful marriage and happy everafter. :)

PetPet contest

Yesterday i received a letter from Disposable Soft Good and I was wondering what is this for? Then i recall in Nov, i sent in quite a number of PetPet barcodes and contest forms. And I was thinking maybe i have won 1 carton of diapers leh?... Hehehee... :P

So i happily opened up the letter and saw that i won the 1st prize!!!! Yippeee... What a nice birthday present for Adelle! ... :)

I am very happy last nite cos i told hubby that i sent in 6-7 barcodes and post all in 1 envelop(save $ mah) but still can win 1st prize leh... Quite a good deal hor! :D

Princess Adelle lunar birthday & birthday party - 4th Jan 09

The date

Princess Adelle lunar birthday happened to fall on a sunday so we decided to hold her birthday party on that day.

The venue

Our house is definitely out of consideration. Reason being we are inviting our friends, colleagues and immediate family so abt 50-70 pax cannot squeeze into my small flat. We also tot of either hold it at Hort park, condo function room or community centre. Finally we shortlisted the function room of Carribbean cos it is near MRT and Weili managed to help us to book the place too. Thanks Weili & Sihui. :)

The theme

Theme of the party is Pooh & friends! Cos Pooh is her idol mah!! Here's the simple invitation card that i have done up for Adelle. I also ordered some Pooh party decoration items from BP but the stuff was stuck in Vpost USA due to xmas and new year holidays. :( So at the very last hour, i have to buy some 2nd hand pooh party decoration items to decorate up the place.

The day

Initially we planned to reach Carribean by 11am but due to the following reasons, we only reached at 12pm :

• Adelle take her own sweet time ie 30mins to eat her porridge. *Faint* She normally takes 10mins to finish up the porridge but that day, she refused to cooperate.
• We need to pick up my aunty before going to Carribean so that she can help to babysit Adelle while we busy decorating the place
• We need to go over to Bugis to inflat helium air into the mylar balloons and the candy shop staff took her own sweet time to inflat the helium air.
  

When we reached the carpark of Carribean, i received phone call from the Mum's Kitchen. They were at the function room and asked if they can proceed to do the setup. I quickly rushed up to the function room and within 20-30minutes, they completed the job. The food looks good, portion was huge and taste good too.

After the catering staff left, some of our friends arrived. We asked them to help us to pump the balloons while we put up the scene setter and banners. I also tried to tie the balloons under the big mylar balloon, an idea that i stole from some website i saw few days back. I was glad that the overall decoration look quite nice. :) Thanks to Allan, Rykiel, Esther, Royy and Weili for helping us to do up the decoration.

At 1pm, a lot of guests started to arrive and we are ready to welcome the guest. Adelle was very excited seeing the kor kors and jie jies. All the kids get a goodie bag which comprises of pooh bear items. We also asked my friend Anne to help us to do balloon sculpting to give to each kid as souvenir to bring home. The function was big enough to cater for 70 pax excluding children. We allocated area for dining, area for gifts and cutting cake, buffet area and another small area for the kids to run around and playing with balloons. It was really packed with adults and kids!

Around 2pm, eCreative arrived with the pooh bear cake that i have ordered few days back. I was glad that the cake turn up to be quite nice cos i requested them to remove the grass(i find it ugly) and add in pink trimming, pink hearts and flowers. The sale lady was "complaining" on the phone saying "wah so many changes ah". And i was worried whether she did follow the instruction i gave her but thank god she did! I love the cake as much as Adelle.. wahahaa... :P

We intended to cut the cake at 2.30pm as most of the guests had their lunch and some are starting to leave already. I quickly asked hubby to get the cake ready as everyone was waiting. The cake cutting was delayed until 3pm as daddy family only reached by then. :( Everyone waited until very sian already and my princess also very sleepy. When we finished singing the birthday song, Adelle also no mood to clap liao. Haiz... cos she didn't have any nap the whole day.

Overall the party was a successful one as the food was good, cake taste good and many friends came too. The party ended at 3.45pm and we managed to clear the place by 4pm. My sister help me to send my parents, aunty and nephew back home while we squeeze all the presents into our small little car. A big thank u to all of you who came for the party and thanks for the gifts and angbaos too. :)

After the party

We reached home before 5pm and Adelle wanted to play with the big pooh balloon. I forgotton that the ceiling fan was on and tried to pass her the balloon. Suddenly we heard a loud bursting sound! Hai.... the balloon gone cos the ceiling fan burst it.... So sad loh... Adelle didn't cry but i was terribly upset cos it was quite expensive leh.... :'(

Adelle managed to catch a 1+hr nap in the evening and then we unwrap the presents for her to take some pic. Look at how tired she was after the long day......

Adelle First Christmas

Prior to Xmas

I bought a xmas bib from a BP for my princess to use it. It was a real Big bib. Look at the pic! We also brought Adelle to see Xmas lightings along Orchard Road.

Xmas eve (24th Dec)

We brought along Adelle to the Party World Karaoke to count down Xmas with Airrence's friends. :) My little princess was not very friendly that nite so she was very sticky to me. However she was still quite cooperative that nite cos she tahan until 12+am then she doze off into her la-la-land when we left the place at 12.30am. It's been a long time since we joined in any gathering after princess Adelle came into our life.

Xmas day (25th Dec)

In the morning while i was feeding Adelle milk, i noticed that her left eyelid looked a little red. By 11am, i noticed it started to swell. We went to church for service and everyone noticed that Adelle eye has swollen quite badly. It was so bad until can't see her left eye loh. Imagine her eyes are already so small and with the swell, couldn't see her left eye at all and she kept rubbing it and feeling very frustrated too.

In the evening time, we brought her to see GP (the regular clinic that we always brought her there). The botak doctor now have hair already and Adelle no longer afraid of him too! heeheehee... :P The diagnosis given by the doctor was either infection or kena mosquito bite. So he prescribed antibotic and eye cream for Adelle to use and cost us $60+ as it is public holiday. Since it was closed to her milk time, i put the medicine into the milk but she refused to drink it. Hmm.. not sure is it smelly or bitter?!?! Anyway, she simply refuse to drink the milk till 10pm, ie 4 hrs from the last feed she had and we gave up. So we change another bottle of milk with the medicine and she was drinking happily till half way. Then we thought of intercept with the medicine and hubby spray the medicine into her mouth. Within seconds, she choke and then all the milk came out from her mouth. Aiyo.... very smelly and we have to clean up the floor. Half an hour later, i have no choice but to give her another clean bottle of milk and she drank happily then off to her la-la-land.

Boxing day (26th Dec)

We were meeting our cell group friends for dinner but we were kind of hesistating whether to bring her there becos of the swell. So i asked my friends to pray for her and thank god the swell did start to subside!

The dinner was held at the Sun with Moon restaurant @ Central. The food was quite special but we find the portion quite small. It was a farewell dinner for our friend Eewan cos she is going over to Sydney to be with Yew Wee (her bf). Before dinner, Adelle and Caleb are very happy to see one another and mummy caught Caleb hugging Adelle. ;)

Post Xmas

We invited Yuan Shan & Soon Yeow + hubbies and baby Tessa to come over to our house for a simple lunch. We cooked fried beehoon, curry chicken and chicken nuggets. Adelle and Tessa had fun playing with the toys and exploring one another. :) It's interesting to see how 2 babies girl react when they see one another.

After xmas day over, it's time to unwrap all the presents that we received from our friends. This year Adelle receives

• 2 pair of shoes - 1 pair of FB shoe from my sis and another pair of Nike from my sis-in-law.
• 1 Hello Kitty bag from Uncle Chee Wee and Aunty Julia
• Doodle Pro from Uncle RenHui & Aunty Meiying
• Mini mouse from France Disneyland given by Uncle Jonathan, Aunty Cherling & Caleb
• A doogie phone from Aunty Yuan Shan and Uncle Yong Chee
• Animal zippy mat from Daddy and Mummy
