Property price still HIGH

Can't help it but wanna share this. :P

Well, my area (Kallang) is now on balloting sale! I have been telling hubby that the 17th floor looks vacant and i suspect people balloted during my time, return the flat last minute loh. Otherwise, it would have been me staying there. Wahahahaa... but i thank god that i didn't get to choose the unit cos 15th in that sector do chanting very often one. Noisy & i'll get headache. :P

Anyway, i was looking at my blk prices. The 17th floor price is now selling @ $429,500. Wah piang almost double of my price. I bought in Dec 07 and now the price shot up to $429,500! It is a 90 sqm and identical to mine except 1 floor higher but that doesn't mean it should be price double rite? Hmm... HDB really know how to earn money. :) But i think i m still smarter than HDB also cos i know the price will sure go up so i went all ways to buy the old enbloc flat and bought my flat at cheap cheap price. wahahahaa.... ;P

I think my area price can compete with the recent Boon Keng BTO price also. Close to condo price but HDB facilities or lagi worst here is it's just a standard flat meaning no floor tiles, aircon, wardrobe, etc. But i believe still got people will buy becos of the location! :)

Away from Home - 20th - 21st Sep

Our first experience to bring baby adelle out to stay @ hotel. :)

20th Sep was our friends' Ryan and Lifang wedding. The dinner was held at Rasa Sentosa Resort Hotel. 1 yr and 9mths ago, we also held our wedding there too. Everything was the same - Ballroom, Event Mgr, Bridal Suite and Banquet Mgr too. :)

The nite before, hubby and i went over to Grace Assembly to do up the decoration with other church friends. We picked up Baby Adelle @ 11pm and she woke up immediately when she saw me. My aunty went over to my house to stay cos i requested her to babysit my darling in the day time as i need to reach the bride house by 6am and run around the whole day to coordinate the wedding. *Siong*

Anyway, my darling seemed to be hyper that nite. And at 1+am, she was laughing at my aunty cos i put her in the same room with my aunty. Dunno what's wrong medicine she took and keep giggling in the room and i went in to pat pat her then she doze off at 2am. *Faint* As for me, i only get to sleep 3 hrs cos i gotta woke up at 5am as the bride stay in jurong area.

When i reached the bride's house, the jie-mei have already started on the preparation of sabo items. The bride's sister prepare the yucky drinks and the other sabo items are

• sing a hokkien song from the carpark
• a bowl of whipped cream for the xiong-di to lick until they found the key (sweet pacifier)
• a bucket of ice with majong tile - using feet to pick up the tiles and form da-san-yuen.
• a contract with 5 promised items for the groom to sign and 5 neighbours to sign as witnesses
  

The groom was very nice cos he gave us a lot of angbaos for the door opening process. For every sabo item they did, he give us angbaos which include ringgit, thai baht and of cos singapore dollar. :)

At around 2+pm, hubby went back home to pick up baby adelle to go to Rasa Sentosa cos we have booked a room there! It was special rate for wedding guest which cost us $220 and we got complimentary breakfast cos i told my event mgr that i decided to take up the breakfast when i checked in and he waive off the charges for me. :)

When i checked-in to my room, i receive phone call from hubby that they have reached the hotel. So i went out to meet them. On my way to the lift lobby, i saw the hotel staff dragging a playpen. Immediately i high-jack the staff and ask if i can rent it. To my surprise, he say Yes and it's FOC. Good Good!! Initially i was thinking how baby adelle is going to sleep with us cos she's been sleeping on her own eversince we moved back after my confinement period. When i returned to the room, i saw the playpen already there with bedsheet as well. It was a Graco playpen and looks new too. Thumbs up for the service! :)

I also asked my event mgr that how come i dont have fruits in my room and they give us a BIG plate of fruits later in the evening and deliver to me. Very good service loh!! :)

During the wedding dinner, i was walking around with princess to make sure everything is fine @ ballroom. At the same time. check out if there is any cute looking boys out there.. wahhaa.. *just joking*. I brought princess to meet Joash (see pic) - prince of Simon and Tifernie. :P It was the first time that they meet face-to-face. They also exchanged hugs and kisses or rather saliva in this case. ;) Besides Joash, princess also meet prince Eason and her friend Caleb.

Despite a busy day, I also managed to take a picture with the bride - Lifang. Hereby wishing Ryan & Lifang a blissful marriage! :)

After the dinner ended, we brought princess up to change into her pjamas and very soon she doze off while we are having fun doing the "nau-dong-fang" @ the bridal suite. :) Before we leave the bridal room, she woke up in a daze and continue to sleep in the playpen when we went back in our room. She guai guai sleep through the nite inside the playpen without making a single sound. Good girl! :)

The next morning, we went for early breakfast cos princess woke up at 7+am and don't want to sleep after her bottle of milk. Jonathan, Cherling & Caleb joined us for breakfast too. There are balloon sculpting session outside the cafe lounge and i brought princess to queue up for her pink dog. Caleb gave princess a orange flower and my greedy girl happily took both balloon with her. :P

After breakfast, we brought princess to the pool. We managed to extend the checkout time to 1pm so we quickly change her into swim wear and pump up the big float. Well, she had fun in the pool!

When i put her into the float @ 0.3m high, she was able to walk with the float supporting her. Then i pulled her into the 0.7m high pool and i saw she was kicking on her own with the float. Really amazed by her baby instinct of knowing how to kick in the water and I guess she recalled how she used to kick 8-9 mths ago... ; ) We also managed to take a lot of pictures this time cos we use the float to support her thus no need to carry her in the pool...

Overall, we enjoyed our "away from home" experience and it just motivated us to bring baby adelle to go for holiday overseas... Looking fwd to do it in Nov/Dec! :) And also more swimming over the next few weeks cos we have decided not to deflat the float as it's very siong to pump it up again. :P

Adelle second word - 20th Sep

Yeah, my darling finally say the word "ma-ma". So happy!! :) Though it was the second word from her but I m still very happy loh... hehehee... Wonder what will be the third word?!?! Could it be delle-delle (her name)?? :P

Anyway, she likes to babble dare-dare-dare lately too. Wonder is it related to daddy or she is trying to say delle delle but went out of pitch?? hehee... ;)

Princess is 8 months old on 16th Sep

Another 4 months to go, my princess will be 1 year old! Time passed very fast this year especially with baby adelle. And time always seemed not enough for me.... how i wished 1 day can have > 24 hrs?


Anyway, 16th Sep is a busy day for me cos it was my friend ryan and lifang wedding rehearsal so after work, i rushed down to Grace Assembly of church @ Bukit Batok. I was quite forgetful lately and forgotton that baby adelle is 8mths old so didn't take any picture on that day. Sorry darling. :( I told myself before that i will try to take her picture at least month but.... Haiz.... forgotton.... No excuse... So i felt bad and took some pictures the next day. So the picture here is 8 mths + 1 day old.




















So what are the milestones @ 8mths?


1. Adelle can sit on her own very well playing with her toys for long hours.
2. She will grab my hands to assist her to stand up
3. Her first word - bababaa.
4. Her favorite fruit - Banana
5. She will sit in her walker and dash around my parents house
6. She loves baby biscuits
7. She can do sit-and-reach! ;)
8. She will look at the camera when we are taking pictures of her
9. She loves tearing tissue paper and into very small pieces too!

Lastly, she still can't crawl. Dunno why.. we suspect her butt is too heavy thus can't crawl or other reasons??

Eventful day - 14th Sep 08

An unforgetable day cos it was the first time that my darling fell off from the bed. :'(

I was busy cooking my darling porridge and packing her stuff in the kitchen and hubby just left her alone on the bed without any "barricades". Suddenly i heard a loud sound dropped onto the floor and then baby adelle broke into tears. I ran into the bedroom and saw her lying on the floor and crying very badly. Hubby tried to calm her down but no use, cry even louder. So i carry her and brought her out to the living room. Managed to calm her down after 5-10mins. Thank God. I looked around her and didnt see any external injuries and hopefully no internal injuries as well. Really heart pain to see her cry until like that and it must be VERY PAINFUL loh... Imagine if i am the one who fell down, i cry like mad too. :'(

Ater the fell, it was about time to feed my darling milk. Initially i was quite worried that she lost appetite after the fell but thank god she finished up the whole bottle of milk assuring me that she is ok.

Shortly after that, we went for Laura birthday party @ Maplewoods. We are the last few people who reached there so not much food left and we also missed the cake cutting session too. Anyway to us, the fun part of the party is to decorate photo-frame which is a combine efforts between hubby and me. :) My friend Jamie brought along a instant Canon photo printer and her sister help to take pictures for the guests to put into the self-decorated frame. Very satisfying to do up a frame and can bring home as a keepsake.

After we left the party, we went to Turf City and couldn't find the interesting family friendly restaurant that my friend Cher ling told me about. Thus, we sit at a long bench to feed princess. My darling was moving here and there when hubby tried to put her sit on the chair and what happen next? She knock her head against the chair's arm and cry loh.... Pain pain.... haiz..... It's really a bad day for her. So many injuries within a day. After dinner, i let her try out those coin car ride and gosh- the price now is $1 per ride. Last time only $0.20 wor.

Since it's mid-autumn last nite, we brought our darling to play with lantern @ our neighbourhood playground and the sky garden @ multi-storey carpark. I gave her the winnie pooh lantern which i bought it 3 years back when i was working in HK. But she doesn't really like it cos she finds the traditional paper lantern with candle more interesting and attempting to touch it.

First Wedding Dinner

On Sat(13th Sep), i brought Princess Adelle to attend my colleague - Kelvin wedding @ Dragon Gate restaurant. It was the first wedding dinner for my princess. Well, we went without daddy attending so that he can go home and do housework... Hehehee... Cos last week, daddy went for wedding dinner and mummy at home doing housework.... But next week, we ALL will be going for wedding dinner @ Sentosa cos it's Aunty Lifang & Uncle Ryan BIG day wor! :P So what happen to housework? Have to wait till sunday loh..... wahahhaa....

Anyway, this is the second time that i am alone with my princess. Overall her performance was ok except that she doesn't want anyone to carry her. She will smile at anyone as long as you don't carry her. :p All my colleagues tried to carry her but she will pretend that she is going to cry so everyone don't dare to touch her eventually....

The dinner started late around 8.45-9pm and my princess doze off while the bride and groom starts to march in and when the first dish starts, she is in her lala-land liao. Thus, i can enjoy the first 4 dishes until the second march-in, the couple broke a few champagne glasses and my darling wokes up in a daze. After that, she refused to sleep liao and want me to carry her. So i put her on my lap while i continue to eat. So my colleagues all comment that she is easy and peaceful baby as long as you don't carry her. Ha... :P

Food for tots

My cooking experience

For the past few weekends, I have been diligently cooking porridge every saturday and sunday. It's tiring cos i have to stand at the stove for 1+ hr and after that sieve(dunno the correct spelling) the porridge until creamy creamy.

Initially i used a normal pot to boil the porridge and it took so long time to cook + ended up chao-da aka burnt. Then i went to buy a small claypot and it cooks faster and no more chao-da. Yeah! :)

So far i have tried cooking porridge with pork, corn for soup base, carrot, spinach, pumkim, potato and sweet potato. All kinds of permutations and most of the time it looks yucky esp for the one with spinach cos greeny. :p

I was shopping at Taka few days back and saw there are many instant baby food like porridge available on the shelf. It's from Pigeon. Guess it's japanese habit to eat instant stuff and that includes baby food as well. Anyway, i don't like the idea of giving instant food and jar food at such a young age. The only instant thing that i can accept is rice cereal. I just gave my princess the Nestle rice cereal with mixed fruits over the weekend and she LOVEs it + finished up the whole bowl wor! Hehehe... i got lotsa sample packets and will bring it out next weekend when i stay over at Rasa Sentosa hotel. Saving my time to cook! . :P

Super Modelle is back!

This piece of complimentary MT Alvernia baby swaddle cloth was super big 7 months ago and now it barely manage to wrap my princess!! Do you think she look like wearing indian sari? :p

Talk about flexibility.... Super Modelle is super flexible cos she can do sit-and-reach at 7.5mths old! wahahaaa... ;)

Baby Adelle "slaps" me ................................ Do we look alike?

We went to Dayna 3 years old birthday celebration on 23rd Aug and Baby Adelle loves the Exersaucer which belong to Eden (Dayna brother). However, mummy will not be buying for baby adelle cos it's costly and they will outgrow this very fast. So better save $ for other purpose.

After the birthday party, we went to church and Aunty Adeline gave a star sticker to Baby adelle. It is also Baby Adelle first time having her porridge prepared by Mummy! :D The porridge is cooked with corn, carrot and pork bone as soup base.

A very cute plastic bib from Aunty Eileen. Now it comes in handy especially during feeding time!!
